Gujarat Chief Minister inaugurates International Kite Festival in the august presence of Governor of Gujarat

Gujarat Chief Minister Mr. Vijay Rupani today inaugurates the 28th edition of International Kite Festival in the august presence of Hon’ble Governor of Gujarat Mr. O. P. Kohli on the banks of Sabarmati riverfront of Ahmedabad.

Governor of Gujarat Mr. O. P. Kohli keeping open the International Kite Festival said that Kites give gives a message to us to move forward in life. He added that our festivals are becoming important for unity of all and for the development. Like kite and its thread, sun and the wind uttrayan is the festival which gives us the message to move forward in life and achieve new heights. He also conveyed best wishes for New Year on the occasion of International Kite Festival.

Mr. Rupani in his occasional speech said that international Kite Festival, ‘Sky is the Limit’ for the state’s development journey. It is the demand of time which spreads the message to celebrate festivals with unity. He also expressed his joy towards Navratri and Kite festival becoming the Global identity of Gujarat said that, it was the novel idea and an initiative take by the Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi to keep Gujarat vibrant with the celebrations of festival.

Mr. Rupani also expressed the role of Karuna Abhiyan, which is under taken by the State Government and requested that no innocent birds be harmed during the flying kite. He also conveyed his greetings that this uttrayan festival becomes an opportunity for people of Gujarat to come true the message of Inclusive Growth, Development of all.

Tourism Minister Mr. Ganpatbhai Vasava in the welcome speech said that, Kite Festival will be celebrated in different cities of the state from January 7 to January 14, by the tourism department. This year, more than 150 kite flyers from 44 countries, as many as 200 kite flyers from 18 states and 300 kite flyers of Gujarat participated in kite festival. 2.82 lakh people are getting employment from Kite Festival and Rs. 572 crore turnover is being done by this kite festival, he added.
