CM inaugurates ‘Tej-Trusha Talent Hunt -2019’, and ‘Gurukool Model Leaner Support Centre’ at Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Open University
Chief Minister Mr. Vijaybhai Rupani today praised the concept of open-university to provide education to knowledge seekers who for some reason can’t attend the study classes through general education system.
Speaking at a function organized to inaugurate ‘Tej Trusha’ Talent Hunt Competition – 2019, ‘Gurukool’ Model Learners Support Centre and ‘ATRI’ Special Support Centre by The Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar Open University here,
Mr. Rupani said that it is really appreciating that this university is constantly striving for offering opportunities to people who want to study and earn degree qualification from the home.
The Chief Minister praised that today our universities have emerged as the centres for social awareness. He further emphasised that the education is one of the important factors for social development of the state. Therefore, the
education is a part of our administration.
Mr. Rupani also pointed out that prior to two decades, Gujarat had just nine universities. But, now we have as many as 67 universities in the state. He also pointed out that the ‘Open University’ has a distinctive advantage of having no limitation for educational scope or boundary. He also expressed determination to extend all possible cooperation to the universities from the government side.
Others, who spoke on the occasion, included Gujarat Education Minister Mr. Bhupendrasinh Chudasama. The event was also graced by Vice Chancellor Ami Upadhyay, Registrar Dr. Bhavin Trivedi, and Principal Secretary (Education Department) Mrs. Anju Sharma and others.
