Governor and CM mark their presence at the celebrations of Constitution Day at Gujarat High Court
Governor of Gujarat Mr. Acharya Devvrat and Chief Minister Mr. Vijay Rupani marked their presence at Gujarat High Court as a part of the celebrations of the Constitution Day.
During the address, Mr. Devvrat said, “The aspect of public welfare is the essence of Indian Constitution. It truly embodies the spirit of unity and solidarity which makes it one of the best in the world. These aspects are also a part of the Indian traditions and culture.”
The constitution also reflects the ideals mentioned in the Vedas and Puranas. The spirit of nationalism is articulated through our constitution. As citizens of India, the people must utilise their democratic rights in a just manner.
Chief Minister Mr. Vijay Rupani said, “The constitution of India has given the citizens a voice. A country without constitution is like a body without soul.” Mr. Rupani also recollected his personal experiences which enabled him to understand the aspect of Liberty and Freedom.
The courts act as guardians of the Indian Constitution. The Chief Minister emphasised the fact that equal rights and freedom to women have been clearly mentioned in the Indian Constitution and the citizens must follow the same. Mr. Rupani talked about the role of Dr. B.R Ambedkar and his contribution as well.
The CM talked about ‘India that is Bharat’ from the Indian Constitution and said that Bharat equates ‘Akhand Bharat’ which includes POK.
The constitution has seen more than 100 amendments in the 70 years of its formation.
Chief Justice of Gujarat High Court Mr. Vikramnath said, “ Two important people , namely Kanaiyalal Munshi and Hansaben Mehta, played an integral role in framing the Indian Constitution.”
Minister of Law Mr. Bhupendrasinh Chudasama, Minister of State for Home Department Mr. Pradeepsinh Jadeja, Assistant Solicitor General from GoI Mr. Devang Vyas, senior advocates of Gujarat High Court and a number of officials were present during the event.
