Guj CM Shri Vijaybhai Rupani attends KRUSHI MAHASHIBIR at Visavadar
Chief Minister Mr. Vijaybhai Rupani today categorically stated that his government is for the uplift of farmers, villages, downtrodden and exploited and will leave no stone turned for their welfare.The Chief Minister urged the farmers to enrich the farming sector of Gujarat by taking advantage of occurrence of good rainfall in current monsoon season inthe state.
He was speaking as a chairman at an inaugural function of the Maha Khedut Shibir jointly organized by the Gujarat State Cooperative Bank Ltd (GSCB), Junagadh District Cooperative Bank Ltd, and Agriculture Produce Market
Committee (APMC) at Keshubhai Marketing Yard at Visavadar in Junagadh district.
Mr. Rupani urged the farmers to become prosperous by adopting drip-irrigation to take three crops every year. He also pointed out that state government giving 70% subsidy to the farmers in setting up drip-irrigation
system in the farms.
Disseminating the information about the Saurashtra Narmada Avtaran Irrigation (SAUNI) scheme, earlier launched by Prime Minister Mr. Narendrabhai Modi, Mr. Rupani said that the works of the scheme is, at present, in its fourth and last phase. This Rs. 16,000-Crore scheme would supply drinking and irrigation waters to make draught in Gujarat a history.
Besides this, the state government has ensured supply of good quality seeds, water and electricity to the farmers for farming. He also pointed out that the Central Government under its Krushi Kishan Samman Nidhi Yojna is giving assistance worth of Rs. 75,000-crore to the farmers every year.
