Guj CM Vijay Rupani launches drive for 1,500 placements at Atmiya University campus; RITA to set up IT Park at Rajkot
Chief Minister Vijay Rupani today said that Gujarat Government will extend all cooperation to Rajkot Information Technology Association (RITA) for setting up IT Park at Rajkot.
Speaking at a recruitment camp organized by RITA at the Atmiya University campus at Rajkot, he said that IT sector holds tremendous scope for providing jobs to youth and help them in the state’s development. He paid his obeisance at the Hari temple at the campus.
Atmiya University’s founder Tyag Vallabh Swamiji announced the launch of new courses in Logistic and Data Science Analytics at the university and blessed the Chief Minister on his 63rd birth anniversary.
Mr. Rupani distributed loan papers totaling Rs.9-crore, advanced by State Bank of India (SBI) total approval of Rs.126-crore loan for 351 beneficiaries for startups, under Mudra Loan to realize Prime Minister’s dream of New India.
RITA mentor Saudhanbhai Desai said that IT activity started in Rajkot around 1980 as nearly 800 small and big IT companies are working in the Saurashtra region, 50 per cent of them at Rajkot. He said that 100 companies are associated with RITA. About 3,000 candidates have come to the recruitment camp, out of which 1,500 are likely to get placement.
SBI General Manager of Ahmedabad Circle Deenabandhu Rath said SBI has 2.17-lakh employees working in 23,000 branches in India with 7-lakh ATMs and 44-crore customers.
Those present on the occasion included RITA President Sanjaybhai Togadia, leader Nitinbhai Bharadwaj, Colector Rahul Gupta and Police Commissioner Manoj Agrawal. RITA Chairman Jaideep Nandani proposed a vote of thanks.
