Administrative approval for works worth Rs. 4369 crore to supply Narmada water for irrigation in Kutch

    Gujarat Chief Minister Mr. Bhupendra Patel has granted administrative approval for phase-1 works worth Rs. 4369 crore for supply of additional 1 million-acre feet of Narmada water to border district kutch.


    Total 4 links with the pipelines of total 337.98 km length are planned.


    The Water Resources Department of State Government has planned to supply this water to 38 small and medium irrigation schemes through this pipeline for the purpose of providing irrigation water to the people of Kutch.


    For this purpose, CM has given administrative approval to carry out works worth Rs. 4369 crore under Phase-I keeping in view the present operation of Kutch Branch Canal.


    77 villages of 6 talukas namely Mundra, Anjar, Mandvi, Rapar, Bhuj and Nakhtrana will get irrigation facilities due to this work. About 2 lakh 81 thousand acres of land can be irrigated with this Narmada water.
