Leading achievement in the field of covid-19 vaccination Gujarat surpassing the target of 10 crore doses

Gandhinagar, Tuseday: Gujarat has achieved the feat of giving more than 10 Crore doses of Corona vaccine to citizens, a hand-held weapon against the Corona epidemic.

Gujarat Chief Minister Mr. Bhupendra Patel congratulated the health workers and frontline workers, Corona Warriors who have been working tirelessly to provide Corona vaccination to the citizens of the state.

Corona vaccination started in Gujarat along with entire nation on 16th January 2021. Gujarat became the first state in the country to start vaccination to the frontline workers from 31st January 2021.

State Government has taken up this vaccination in the form of a campaign. Special sessions, special camps in schools, colleges, educational institutions, also the elderly and other critically ill people are being vaccinated on a priority basis through the ‘Har Ghar Dastak’ campaign.

Accelerating this intensive campaign and public awareness efforts in Gujarat over 18 years of age
4 crore 87 lakh 11 thousand 681 such as 98.8% got first dose and 4 crore 59 lakh 36 thousand 481 such as 95.7% people who got second dose.
Starting the process of giving covid vaccine to children in the age group of 15 to 18 years from 3rd January 2018. Out of 35.50 lakh eligible children, 79.9% such as 28 lakh 44 thousand 496 got first dose and 52.2% i.e 10 lakh 10 thousand 267 have been protected by giving second dose.

Precautionary dosing has been started in Gujarat from January 10th January 2022 by the state health department covering 16 lakh 21 thousand 138 precision doses covering health workers, frontline workers and comorbid beneficiaries above 60 years of age. More than 10 crore vaccination doses have been given across the state till February 8.

With this achievement of giving 10 crore doses to Gujarat, the beneficiaries of two doses per ten lakh by giving 9 lakh 96 thousand 724 vaccine doses in this field it has gained the lead among the big states of the country.

It is important to point out here that there are 2250 stores, 2599 Ice lined refrigerator, 84933 Vaccine carriers, Cold chain equipment like cold box 4034 are available for vaccine storage in the state.

The services of more than 12 thousand trained vaccinators are also available to cover the citizens with vaccination shield.
