A meeting takes place between CM and members of All Party Parliamentary Group of the British Parliament in Gandhinagar

    Gandhinagar, Wednesday: An important meeting was held between 8 parliamentary members of the All Party Parliamentary Group of the British Parliament and Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel in Gandhinagar.

    This meeting was organized as part of the All Party Parliamentary Group’s visit to India with context to trade and investment between UK India and Gujarat.

    The All Party Parliamentary Group whom Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel met includes a total of 8 Members of Parliament from the Conservative Party, Labour Party, Scottish National Party and Independent Cross Bench of the British Parliament.

    Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel warmly welcomed this delegation to Gujarat, the land of Gandhiji, Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel and the most renowned leader of the world and the most successful Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.

    In this meeting Chief Minister elaborated on the fact that Gujarat has become a role model state for comprehensive development of the country under the leadership and direction of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.

    The Chief Minister further added saying that, Because of the visionary leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi trade and industry with the country and abroad has grown extensively and Gujarat is always ready for friendly relations with other states and nations under his leadership.

    Chief Minister also said that Gujarat has become the most preferred investment destination due to pro-active policy making, ease of doing business and investor friendly approach as well as robust industrial and logistics infrastructure.

    He clearly stated that Gujarat is ahead of other states in every field of trade, industry, manufacturing and has become the first choice state for foreign investments following the success of the Vibrant Summit.

    He said, Gujarat has created such a favourable environment for business and industry that once the investors who start their business – industry in Gujarat they settle down in Gujarat itself and do not go elsewhere.

    During this meeting with the Chief Minister, the members of the All Party Delegation of the British Parliament showed keen interest in knowing about the favourable atmosphere for industries in Gujarat, including solar rooftop, green growth, waste to energy, steel plant.

    He was also impressed by the robust logistics infrastructure and supply chain that Gujarat has opined that it can become a global gateway.

    Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel requested the members of the delegation to personally visit and experience the ultra-modern facilities set-up at Gift City and IFSC, etc.

    The Chief Minister also informed the delegation about the world-class facilities pertaining to higher education in Gujarat and the specialty of sector specific universities.

    He further added that Gujarat Biotechnology University near Gift City has been established in collaboration with University of Edinburgh in UK.

    Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel also requested the best global universities of UK to set-up their campuses in Gift City.

    The Chief Minister also extended an invitation to visit the Statue of Unity, the world’s tallest statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, shaped up with the inspiration of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi.

    Minister of Finance and Energy Shri Kanu Desai, Minister of State for Industries and Home Shri Harsh Sanghvi, Chief Principal Secretary to CM Shri Kailashnathan, Additional Chief Secretary of Industries Department Shri S.J. Haider, Industries Commissioner Shri Sandip Sangle, MD (Managing Director ) of iNDEXTb Shri Gaurang Makwana also participated in this meeting.
