Adequate quota for bed, oxygen, remedivisor injection is now available in Gujarat: CM

Ahmedabad: In wake of surge in Corona cases in its second wave in Gujarat, Chief Minister Mr. Vijaybhai Rupani, in the presence of Deputy Chief Minister Mr. Nitinbhai Patel, today categorically stated that the state government has been working on “war footing” to control the surge of ‘Covid-19’ and has built 15,000 news beds in last 10-days across Gujarat for treating the Corona patients.

Both Mr. Rupani and Mr. Patel today held a high-level review meeting with district administration of Patan to take the stock of ‘Covid-19’ situation in the district.

The Chief Minister said that the state government has supplied 180,000 Remdesivir Injections to pharmacists across Gujarat between April 1 and 10; besides this, a stock of 105,000 Remdesivir injections was supplied through various government hospitals across Gujarat. Gujarat based India’s well known pharmaceutical giant ‘Cadila’ has resumed resale of Remdesivir injections in Ahmedabad from today. Beside these, the state government has made sufficient arrangements for oxygen and beds in the entire state, including Patan district.

In addition to these, the state government has made arrangement of over 50,000 Remdesivir injections for Ahmedabad and 25,000 Remdesivir injections each for Rajkot, Vadodara, and Surat; and, to meet more demand the government has placed an order of 300,000 Remdesivir injections. Thus, Gujarat has become the topper state of the country in arranging the Remdesivir injections Mr. Rupani said and added that the state government has ensured easy availability of Remdesivir injections for the citizens who are in need.

He further stated that number of ‘Corona’ patients in its second wave is surging rapidly in India. Similarly, the Corona transition is also rising in Gujarat. The state government has taken all necessary measures to curb the transition of Corona pandemic in Gujarat.

Emphasizing on Testing, Tracing and Treatment for timely treatment of the Corona patients, the Chief Minister said that a new Corona Testing machine has been given to Patan District Administration; ensuing it, the report of RTPCR Test would be available within six-hours. In addition to this, an arrangement has been made that daily 5,000 Corona Tests can be conducted in Patan district.

Besides this, the places which have reported higher number of positive cases would be marked as containment zones and the instructions have been given to concern authorities to ensure that stringent implementation of ‘Containment zone’ is done in those spots.

The Chief Minister also announced that for prompt availability of the treatment for Corona patients, soon an arrangement of 500 beds would be made in Patan district. He also praised the NGOs for arranging ‘Covid Care Centers’ for patients having symptoms of Corona in Patan district.

The state government has made special arrangement for supplying medicines and treatment to the Corona patients who are observing ‘Quarantine’ at their home, said Mr. Rupani and added that ‘Covid Care Centers’ would be setup in Primary and Community Health Centers in Rural areas so Corona affected patients living in rural areas will not have to rush to Patan city for the treatment. Not only this, the bed facility for Corona patients would be increased in Siddhpur, Radhanpur and Chanasma towns too.

The review meeting was also attended by Chief Secretary Anil Mukim, Mr. K. Kailashnathan – Chief Minister Secretary to the Chief Minister, Dr. Jayanti Ravi – Principal Secretary (Health), Ms Mamta Verma – Officer on Special Duty and Principal Secretary (Tourism), Mr. Supreet Singh Gulati — District Collector of Patan, DDO Mr. D. K. Parekh, and others.
