Although the local languages are different but our official language is same, it realizes the sense of unity in diversity- Chief Minister

    Gandhinagar, Wednesday:  ‘Hindi Diwas Samaroh 2022’ and ‘Dwitiya Akhil Bhartiya Rajbhasha Sammelan’ organized in Surat by the Department of Official Languages, Ministry of Home Affairs, Government of India under the chairmanship of Union Home and Cooperation Minister Shri Amit Shah.

    Greeting on Hindi Diwas Shri Shah said that, Veer Narmad was the first in the nation to highlight the importance of languages from the holy land of Surat. He gave the dream of a Garvi Gujarat and insisted the British to transact in Hindi. Surat is the land of enthusiasm and land to fulfill desires.

    In his address Union Home Minister urged to educate children in their local language and official language. On the occasion of Amrit Mohotsav let us all resolve to take the country to the new heights in the next 25 years through our local languages.

    Our local and official languages are the richest languages in the world. Hindi is the official language of the people and it has to be promoted.

    He further said, In the National Education Policy formulated under the leadership of the Prime Minister, the policy of providing primary education in the local language has been introduced. A target has been set to conduct Medical, science, technology, engineering courses in local language. He expressed the belief that, with this existing education policy India will become self-reliant in the field of languages in the future.

    To understand our culture, history and the literature of many generations, it is necessary to know the official language. The youth of India has boundless potential. He requested the youth of the country to accept their local language and Rajbhasha.

    Shri Amit Shah requested to adopt their local language as the language of communication at home for shaping up future of children.

    India is a country rich in many languages. People easily can connect with each other through languages. Stating that Hindi language is a companion of all Indian languages and not a competitor, the Union Home Minister said, With the prosperity of Hindi language, all languages will become prosperous. It is necessary to make Hindi well renowned.

    He appealed everyone to set the aim of making every language alive and affluent.

    Narrating his own experience, the Union Home Minister said, I can speak Hindi easily as I studied in Gujarati medium.He further said that Freedom fighters used their local language and Hindi language for freedom. Hindi has always been an inclusive language. He appealed to accept the importance of Rajbhasha along with Swabhasha.

    On this occasion, Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel said ’भारत के भाल की बिंदी है हिन्दी‘. Celebrating Hindi Day is a symbol of unity in a country which has diverse languages. Chief Minister said.  He further added that Hindi is the third most spoken language in the world. The Chief Minister considered Gujarat as the correct place to celebrate Hindi Day and added that, In the 19th century in Gujarat, Swami Dayanand Saraswati wrote the book Satyartha Prakash in Hindi to promote the Arya Samaj.  Gujarati and Hindi are languages co-linked with each other. Gujarati literature is also linked  with Hindi. The Chief Minister said that there is similarity in words and script too.

    Chief Minister clearly stated that Hindi and Gujarati language are origin of Sanskrit language. Though local languages of all may be different but the official language is one. It is this spirit that realizes the Prime Minister’s mantra of everyone’s support, everyone’s development, everyone’s faith, unity in diversity, he added. It  is the mantra given by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi of Sauna saath, Sauna Vikas, Sauna Vishwas which realizes Unity in diversity. He added.

    On this occasion Union Minister of State for Home Affairs Shri Ajay Kumar Mishra explained the importance of Rajbhasha and said that Rajbhasha is a language that nurtures knowledge, culture and tradition. He said,Hindi newspapers, bulletins and pamphlets are read in more than 25 countries in the world, which is an ideal proof of the acceptance of Indian language at global stage. He gave details of the positive change seen in the country for Hindi language since the ‘golden age’ of ‘Rajbhasha’. He expressed the determination of the government to continue working in this direction by stating that the upcoming phase will be of Hindi language.

    On this occasion, the Union Home Minister launched the software of ‘Hindi Shabd Sindhu’ (Version-1) dictionary and world class translation tool ‘Kanthasth 2.0’.While the book which was published by ISRO was also released On this occasion, Rajbhashakirti and Gaurav awards were awarded by the ministers for providing excellent work in the field of Rajbhasha.

    On this occasion Minister of State for Ministry of Education Shri Rajkumar Ranjan,  Union Minister of State for Home Nisith Pramanik,  Union Minister of State for Railways Shri Darshana Jardosh, Secretary for Raj Bhasha Shri Asuli Aryji, Minister of State for Home Affairs of Gujarat Shri Harsh Sanghvi, Minister of State for Finance Shri Kanu Desai, Minister of Transport Shri Purnesh Modi, Minister of State for Agriculture and Energy Shri Mukesh Patel, Central and State Government Ministers, Members of Rajya Sabha and Lok Sabha, Senior Officials of Central Government Ministries/Departments, MLAs, Hindi Scholars from across the country were present.
