An important step by the state government under Guj CM towards realizing PM’s vision of Gram Sachivalaya

    @ State government to expand the services under Government to Citizen G2C and Business to Citizen B2C to provide ease of living to people in rural areas

    @ More than 321 civic services are provided by e-Gram centres under G2C basis 27.75 lakh transactions have been done through the Business to Service B2C portal till date

    @ 43.32 crore digital interactions have been done through e-Gram since 2007


    Gandhinagar, Thursday: Hon’ble Chief Minister of Gujarat Shri Bhupendra Patel chaired the 11th meeting of the Governing Body of e-Gram Vishwagram Society in Gandhinagar in the presence of Minister of State Panchayat Shri Bachubhai Khabad. During the meeting, he instructed to expand the G2C and B2C services through the e-Gram centres to provide ease of living to people in rural areas.

    The Chief Minister also gave necessary suggestions to increase the scope of using VCE as banking correspondent.

    A review of various projects was done to strengthen the e-Gram Vishwagram project.

    The e-Gram Vishwagram Society was established in Gujarat since 2007 to realize Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi’s concept of Gram Sachivalaya. Its aim is to shape the identity of the Gram Panchayat as an e-services delivery centre so that the youth of the village can avail employment opportunities at doorstep.

    More than 321 services under G2C i.e. Government to Citizen Services are being provided by 14181 e-Gram Panchayats across the state through e-Gram Vishwagram project.

    Under Digital Gujarat, Digital Seva Setu has been started since 2019 so that the benefits of digital services reach rural areas. More than 1.07 crore documents, related to various services, have been provided to different departments.

    More than 42 crore digital interactions have been carried out such as revenue documents, 7/12 document, 8A certificate, electricity bill, prepaid gas bill receipt, birth-death certificate, income statement, Ganga Swarupa Yojana (Vidhva Sahay Yojana), Vahali Dikari Yojana through e-Gram.

    The state government has also planned to provide incentives to VCEs to promote digital interactions through e-Gram centres.

    e-Gram Vishwagram Project has also been helpful in various schemes of the Central Government.Around 46 lakh e-Shram cards have been issued by e-Gram Centres and more than 29 lakh farmers have benefited from PM Kisan portal.

    Ayushman card is also provided to people in rural areas through e-Gram center. More than 4200 e-Gram centers are functional in providing Ayushman card under PMJAY and 3500 e-Gram centers are operating as financial correspondents. Moreover there are 566 e-Gram centres which provide Aadhaar card services.

    More than 14,000 Gram Panchayats are using this Gram Suvidha Portal application which was launched in 2020-21 to collect various types of taxes like house tax, water tax, light and cleaning tax at the village level.
    It was also informed in the meeting that the work for enabling people in rural areas to pay their taxes online is under progress.

    Chief Secretary Shri Raj Kumar, Additional Chief Secretaries of Revenue, Agriculture, Health Department and Additional Chief Secretary to Chief Minister Shri Pankaj Joshi and Principal Secretary of Rural Development Department and concerned officials attended this meeting.
