Narsinh Mehta lake of Junagadh to be developed with modern facilities like ring road-embankment-promenade-walk way

Gandhinagar, Tuesday: Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel allocated a special grant of 28.83 crores for the development of Narsinh Mehta lake in Junagadh the land of Adya Kavi Narsinh Mehta.
For the development works of this Narsinh Mehta lake in the centre of Junagadh city, a proposal to undertake the entire project by the Municipal Corporation at a cost of Rs. 48.32 crores was made to the Chief Minister through the Gujarat Municipal Finance Board.
The Chief Minister has sanctioned Rs 28.83 crore as a special grant in addition to the Rs 19.49 crore allocated earlier to the Junagadh Municipal Corporation under Swarnim Jayanti Mukhyamantri Shaheri Vikas yojana.
The 9.9 hectare area of this Narsinh Mehta lake in Junagadh will be developed in two phases at a total cost of Rs 48.32 crore.
According to the master plan presented by the Junagadh Municipal Corporation for this lake development, the lake will be surrounded by ring road, embankment, protection wall, promenade, walkway, amenities block, parking, entrance gate, boating dock, ghat, garden, tree-plantation, light poles, activities such as islands are included for bird attractions.
Interception drainage lines and pumping stations have been completed at a cost of 10.00 crores under Amrut Scheme to prevent sewage from the area around the lake from mixing in the lake.
The completion of this project of development of Narsinh Mehta Lake will benefit the surrounding residential area with a population of approximately 30,000.
The construction of ring road and parking in the centre of the city will remove the traffic problem and after the completion of the development work of the lake, the citizens and tourists coming to Junagadh will get a new sight for various recreational activities.
