Chief Minister announces financial assistance to 156 municipalities for cleaning works post heavy rainfall and flood situation

    Gandhinagar, Thursday: Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel has taken an important decision to provide financial assistance to 156 municipalities for cleaning works post heavy rainfall and flood situation in the state. For this purpose, he has given in-principle approval to allot Rs. 17.10 crore to 156 municipalities of the state.

    The Chief Minister has given clear guidelines to the Urban Development and Urban Housing Department in this regard.

    This grant will be used to provide facilities in all 156 municipalities of the state on an immediate basis at the primary stage.

    As per the norms of this financial assistance, Rs. 4.40 crore will be allotted to 22 municipalities of Class “A” at Rs. 20 lakh each, Rs. 4.50 crore will be allocated to 30 municipalities of Class “B” at 15 lakh each, Rs. 6 crore will be allocated to 60 municipalities of Class “C” at 10 lakh each and Rs. 2.20 crore will be allocated to 44 municipalities of Class “D” at 5 lakh each.

    This allocation of Rs. 17.10 crore by Chief Minister will further accelerate the cleaning and disposal of flooded rainwater works in municipalities of the state.
