CM approves an additional grant of Rs 97 crores for road resurfacing of 62 municipalities of the state

    Chief Minister’s public welfare approach of increasing citizen well-being by immediately repairing the roads of urban areas damaged by heavy rains


    Gandhinagar, Thursday: Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel has allocated an additional grant of Rs. 97 crores 50 lakhs for road resurfacing with a noble approach so that the citizens do not suffer and the traffic can run smoothly.

    Chief Minister has adopted the approach of providing this additional grant to the municipalities under the respective Regional Municipal Commissioners for road resurfacing of such 62 municipalities.

    This additional grant will be allocated under the Mukhyamantri Sadak Yojana under the Swarnim Jayanti Mukhyamantri Shaheri Vikas Yojana.

    Accordingly, grants of 8 crore 86 lakhs to 8 municipalities of Ahmedabad region, Rs.10 crore to 12 municipalities of Vadodara region, Rs. 16 crore 30 lakh for 10 municipalities of Surat, 45 crore 39 lakh for 15 municipalities of Rajkot RCM, 15 crore 1 lakh to 13 municipalities of Bhavnagar region and Rs. 1 crore 86 lakhs for 4 municipalities of Gandhinagar have been allocated.

    It be mentioned here that the state government had previously allocated a total grant of Rs 99.60 crore to 156 municipalities in the month of September for the immediate repair of the damaged city roads due to heavy monsoon. Now, after obtaining the details of the actual damage to the roads in the municipalities, Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel has approved an additional grant of Rs. 97.50 crores for 62 municipalities under the Mukhyamantri Sadak Yojana.
