Chief Minister commends ‘Team Gujarat’ for successful organization of G20 Meetings in Gujarat

    Chief Minister releases ‘G20 Gujarat Connect Report’ and leads a meeting with senior officials from departments associated with G20 in Gandhinagar


    Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel commended ‘Team Gujarat’ for the tremendous success of 17 different G20 Meetings held in Gujarat.

    He emphasized that Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi gave a vision that any large scheme can be accomplished with collective effort.

    The Chief Minister addressed a meeting of senior secretaries and officials of the departments that partnered for the success of G20 Gujarat Connect. He also released the ‘G20 Gujarat Connect Report’ on the occasion.

    He said that we have elevated a unique image of Gujarat by organizing the meetings with extensive planning and added that the state will now be the preferred destination to host such large events with timely and time-bound planning.

    Under the leadership of Hon’ble PM Shri Narendra Modi, when India was handed over the G20 Presidency, 200 different meetings were held at 61 places across the country. Gujarat was privileged to be selected to host 17 meetings, the highest number in the country, which were organized with utmost diligence and precision.

    The Chief Minister added, “We have been able to highlight the diversity of Gujarat, including its culture, cuisine, lifestyle and excellent urban development to the representatives of the G20 partner countries.”

    Shri Patel exuded confidence that with the same team spirit, we will enhance Gujarat’s prestige by working together.

    Speaking on the occasion, Chief Secretary Shri Raj Kumar said that G20 is in a sense becoming a rehearsal for the Vibrant Summit-2024 for the administration. He acknowledged the guidance given by the Chief Minister by taking a personal interest in organizing every G20 meeting.

    He also added that Gujarat not only represents a developed state but also extends its hospitality to the G20 delegation. He suggested that the experiences of G20 Connect should be incorporated as best practices in Vibrant 2024 and adopted in Pre-Vibrant.

    Smt. Mona Khandhar, Coordinator of G20 Planning in Gujarat and Principal Secretary of Panchayat Department, welcomed everyone at the outset and informed them about the purpose of the program.

    Mayor of Ahmedabad Smt. Pratibha Jain, former Mayor Shri Kirit Parmar and senior secretaries of the State Government were present on the occasion.
