Mass Marriage of 542 couples at Savli in Vadodara district, including 10 Muslims and one Christian couple, event enter World Record

Each couple gets gift pack of 56 items, necessary to start a family

Four divyang (disabled) couples felicitated, each get Rs. one lakh assistance as per government rules 

Gujarat Chief Minister Vijaybhai Rupani today described the mass marriage as a symbol of social equanimity and the need of the hour.

He was speaking at the 4th all-community mass marriage of 542 couples, including ten Muslims and one Christian couple, at Savli in Vadodara district. They were presented with gift packs containing 56 items necessary to start a family. The couples reached the venue in a procession in bedecked tractor-trolleys to the accompaniment of musical band and fire crackers.

They included four divyang (physically challenged) couples. While felicitating the divyang couples with mementoes, the Chief Minister said each would get assistance of Rs. one lakh as per the government norms.

The event was organized under the aegis of of the Mahendrabhai Jashbhai Charity Trust by legislator Ketanbhai Inamdar to commemorate birth anniversary of his father late Mahendrabhai Jashbhai Inamdar as part of its social reforms, rising above casteism, communalism and regionalism.

Vidhan Sabha Speaker Rajendrabhai Trivedi and MP Ranjanben Bhatt also spoke on the occasion and lauded the efforts of the legislator Mr. Inamdar.

Prominent among those present on the occasion included Minister of State for Home Radeepsinh Jadeja, party leader Dilubha Cgudasma, MayorBharat Dangar, Bhargavbhai Bhatt, MLAs, Collector Shalini Agrawal, DDO V.A. Vaghela and the Inamdar family.
