Gandhinagar, Friday: Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel dedicated various developmental works to Surendranagar district in a single day. During his visit to Surendranagar district, he inaugurated the new bus station and laid the foundation stone of Museum-Library to be constructed at the birth place of Rashtriya Shayar Zaverchand Meghani.
CM’s one day visit to Surendranagar-Jhalawar became a development festival for the district.
Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi inaugurated 91 Akashvani Radio FM stations across the country virtually from New Delhi which includes one such FM station in Surendranagar too.
Rashtriya Shayar Zaverchand Meghani Museum-Library will be constructed at Chotila at a cost of 29.51 crores and Government Library at a cost of 3.39 crores. CM paid floral tributes to the statue of Shri Zaverchand Meghani.
As part of the 125th birth anniversary celebrations of Rashtriya Shayar Zaverchand Meghani the government has allotted land to prepare a museum at his birth place Chotila and a budget of Rs. 29.51 crore has been approved for the museum. This museum will showcase the contribution of Shri Zaverchand Meghani in the field of journalism and Gujarati literature.
Besides, Chotila Taluka Library has been named as “Rashtriya Shayar Zaverchand Meghani Government Taluka Library”. As the existing building is small, the state government will construct a two-storey state-of-the-art government library equipped with modern facilities. In this library, all literary creations of Meghaniji will be made available, which can be used by readers and researchers.
CM inaugurated the newly built bus station at a cost of 6.25 crores in Surendranagar city. He visited the premises of the bus station and inspected the various facilities set up for the passengers.
This bus station with RCC frame structure, which has been shaped in an area of 20083 square meters in Surendranagar city, has a total of 14 platforms and facilities including waiting hall with seating arrangement for passengers, inquiry room, VIP waiting lounge, child care room, canteen, water room.
At Surendranagar bus station, 140 buses from Surendranagar depot and 140 buses from other depots together will make transportation more convenient for about 5000 passengers who are travelling on a daily basis.
During the visit of CM Union Minister of State Shri Mahendrabhai Munjpara, Deputy Chief Whip Shri Jagdishbhai Makwana, MLA’s Shri Kiritsinh Rana, Shri Shamjibhai Chauhan, Shri P.K. parmar, Shri Prakashbhai Varmora, Additional Chief Secretary of Ports and Transport Corporation Shri M. K. Das, Vice-Chairman and Administrative Manager of the Transport Corporation Shri M.A. Gandhi, Secretary of Transport Corporation, District Village Development Agency Director, Deputy Director General of Akashvani Rajkot, Doordarshan Additional Deputy Director, District Collector, District Development Officer, Superintendent of Police and other senior officers were present.
