Gandhinagar, September 20, 2023: Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel, with the Collectors from Bharuch, Vadodara, Narmada, Chhota Udepur, Dahod, Kutch, and Morbi districts, which were heavily impacted by rainfall, gathered initial assessments on the extent of damage incurred in terms of property, livestock, agriculture, power supply, water provision, and more within their respective districts.
Chief Secretary Shri Raj Kumar, Chief Principal Secretary to CM Shri K. Kailashnathan as well as Additional Chief Secretaries and senior secretaries of various departments attended this meeting.
The Collectors of the districts affected assured the Chief Minister that the work of paying cash doles along with the assistance to be provided to those whose houses have been damaged because of heavy rains will be carried out with immediate effect
The Chief Minister was also informed by the Collectors about the task to employ a survey team at the district level to carry out the preliminary survey of the damage caused to the property and agriculture in these districts in the days to come.
The Chief Minister was briefed by the Collectors about the desilting, road repair, water chlorination, spraying of insecticides to prevent the spread of disease and other health measures to be carried out in the affected areas once the rain subsides.
Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel instructed the Collectors to carry out a survey of the damage caused in the affected areas on an urgent basis and to prepare preliminary estimates. He also informed them to remain in constant touch with the concerned departments of the state government to provide necessary assistance to the people affected.
In this regard, the Chief Minister also briefed Chief Secretary Shri Raj Kumar to carry out in-depth planning with the concerned departments at the state level.
