Chief Minister inaugurates 5000th Axis Bank branch at Ahmedabad

Inauguration of 101 Axis Bank branches across the country today

Hon’ble Chief Minister:

Gandhinagar, 26 September 2023: Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel inaugurated the 5000th branch of Axis Bank today in Bodakdev, Ahmedabad. A total of 101 Axis Bank branches have been launched across the country today, including the inauguration of 11 branches in Gujarat.

Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel mentioned that the first branch of Axis Bank was inaugurated in Ahmedabad, and today’s inauguration of the 5000th branch in Ahmedabad is a matter of great pride for all of us.

The Chief Minister stated that Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has given the mantra of ‘Sauno Saath, Sauno Vikas, Sauno Vishwas, Sauno Prayas’ to the people of the country, which we must fulfil together. He further conveyed that the Prime Minister has initiated the Jan Dhan Yojana, which allows any individual to open a bank account. This has enabled over 48 crore people across the nation, including 1.8 crore citizens of Gujarat, to open accounts with zero balance.

The Chief Minister emphasized that under the leadership of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, a digital revolution to accelerate financial services has taken shape. He highlighted that it is a matter of great pride for all of us that India accounts for 45% of the total global digital transactions.

He continued that during the COVID-19 pandemic, the PM SVANidhi scheme was introduced with the aim of revitalizing the businesses and livelihoods of small entrepreneurs. In addition to this, he informed that PM Vishwakarma Yojana has been launched under the guidance of the Prime Minister. Partnership from Axis Bank will provide necessary assistance to the people.

Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel concluded, “I congratulate the entire staff of the new Axis Bank branches that have been started in the state and the country.” He said that together, we must contribute and accelerate the goal of a Viksit Bharat@2047 as envisioned by the PM during ‘Azadi Ka Amrit Kaal’.

Axis Bank Managing Director Shri Amitabh Chaudhary, Group Executive and Head of Retail Banking Shri Ravi Narayanan, President of Axis Bank Ms. Arnika Dixit, RBBH West Axis Bank Shri Rakesh Bhojnagarwala, and a large number of Axis Bank employees were present at this event.
