Gandhinagar, Thursday: Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel while inaugurating the ‘Amrit Mahotsav’ of Shri Swaminarayan Gurukul Sansthan Rajkot at Sahajanandnagar said, Amrit Mahotsav is being celebrated at Rajkot on the occasion of completion of 75 years of Swaminarayan Institute along with Amrit Mahotsav of nation to mark 75 years of India’s independence which is a good combination.
The institution of Swaminarayan Gurukul is doing a noble work of inculcating valuable rites along with education among the students. The Chief Minister said that along with acquiring knowledge, students also acquire human values, which are very necessary in building a developed nation.
Now that we have entered the golden era of independence, Shri Bhupendra Patel called upon everyone to participate with strong national spirit in fulfilling the dream of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi for a developed India. With the feeling of pride he said that after the grand victory in the Gujarat assembly election, the Chief Minister has come here to seek the blessings of the saints so that we can work with sincerity and honesty in the development of the state of Gujarat.
Governor Shri Acharya Devvrat said, Today, Rajkot Gurukul has grown from a seed into an institution like a banyan tree. Referring to the principles of the Swaminarayan Institute, he said, In a country where women are respected, the abode of the gods is certain. Indian women have been honoured for years.
The Swaminarayan saints do not limit themselves to building just temples and performing pujas, but work to provide health facilities, educate children, protect cows and religion etc.
The Governor further said that, about 50 Gurukuls are functioning at present, but the Gurukul for girls in Rajkot is a commendable one. Women is half of the society, we are all born from mother’s womb. Mother is our first Guru. The people who donate for this Gurukul do charitable work for the education of girl children.
Dignitaries including Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel, Governor Shri Acharya Devvrat inaugurated the Mahotsav by worshiping the statue of Sahajanand Swami with flowers and cutting the ribbon in the premises of Sahajanand Nagar. The program started with a welcome dance by the children of Gurukul.
Foundation stone was laid for the Kanya Gurukul to be built by the Rajkot Gurukul Sansthan was performed by Saints Mahants and dignitaries.
The Chief Minister digitally inaugurated the Swaminarayan Gurukul temple in Surendranagar. While Governor Shri Acharya Devvrat digitally inaugurated the Swaminarayan Gurukul temple in Jamnagar.
A film of 75 years of successful journey of Swaminarayan Sansthan was screened.
Param Pujya 1008 Vadtal Gadipati Shri Acharya Rakeshprasadji Maharaj presented the chart of the working pattern of Swaminarayan Institute.
On this occasion, Maharaj Guruvarya Shri Devkrishna Dasji, Mahantshri Dev Prasadji Swami, Mahant Shri Dharmavallabh Swami, MLA Shri Darshita Shah, Shri Uday Kangal, Shri Rameshbhai Tilala, Mayor Dr. Pradeep Dove, Regional Vice President. Shri Bharat Boghra, Rajkot District BJP President Shri Kamlesh Mirani, Commissioner of Police Shri Raju Bhargava, Municipal Commissioner Shri Amit Arora alongwith them Saints, Mahants and a large number of Haribhakts were present.
