Guj CM kick starts 13th edition of state-wide Garib Kalyan Mela from tribal area Panchmahal in Godhra

    37 Garib Kalyan Melas will be held in 33 districts under the 13th edition of Garib Kalyan Mela

    Chief Minister:-

    • Benefits of Rs. 34,596 crore received by 1.65 crore poor people through 1567 Garib Kalyan Melas held in 12 phases

    Gandhinagar, Friday:  Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel while inaugurating the 13th edition of Garib Kalyan Mela state-wide from the tribal area of Godhra said that, the government is besides the poor and deprived  to make them self-reliant by providing  them the benefits of government schemes.

    Chief Minister added that Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi after assuming the office of Prime Minister in his first address said that ,The government will give priority to the upliftment of the poor, deprived, afflicted and the exploited. Garib Kalyan Mela has portrayed this very well.

    Chief Minister kick started this Garib Kalyan Mela from tribal district of Panchmahal-Godhra and distributed various assistance worth Rs. 281 crore to 35,583 beneficiaries in a single day.

    In other district headquarters of the state, the Ministers, office bearers of the state Cabinet kick started the Garib Kalyan Mela. Including 33 districts and 4 metros the 13th edition of Garib Kalyan Mela will be held for two days 14th and 15th Referring to the state government’s  mantra of ‘ Har Hath Ko Kaam, Har Kaam Ka Samman, Shri Patel said, Through Garib Kalyan Mela, the benefits and assistance of government schemes are being given directly to the poor.

    The Chief Minister said that till now 1.65 crore poor people have been provided benefits worth Rs. 34,596 crore through  1567 Garib Kalyan Melas held in 12 phases.

    In addition to it various assistance worth Rs. 281 crore were distributed to 35,583 beneficiaries of  Panchmahal district  by the Chief Minister and other dignitaries.  The Chief Minister also released the ‘Aagekuch’ coffee table book covering 22 different schemes of the Panchayat Department.

    He further said that we all are reaping the fruits of development politics which were sown two decades back by Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi during his tenure as Chief Minister of Gujarat. He initiated  to eradicate poverty and provided employment to the people of Gujarat through development of industries.  He  started providing scheme benefits to the deprived by developing every sector.

    Chief Minister Shir Bhupendra Patel further added saying that During Prime Minister’s tenure as Chief Minister of Gujarat laid a concrete foundation for good roads, clean drinking water, 24 hours electricity, quality education, health and industrial development in Gujarat on whose basis our government is moving forward at a very fast pace.

    As a result of the Vibrant Gujarat series started by Shri Narendra Modi for maximum industrial investment in Gujarat, today, large industries are operating in Gujarat and because of this, people are getting employment along with increasing investment. Gujarat has become the best destination for foreign investors.

    Gujarat has been the leader in providing employment across the country since decades. The Chief Minister said.

    He added that earlier industries were developed only in one pocket. For employment, one had to go only go from Vadodara to Vapi. On the other hand, due to the easy availability of basic physical and infrastructural facilities, industries have been established even at the taluka level and people are getting local employment,Due to which Gujarat has become the growth engine of the country. While elaborating on the fact that Gujarat is benefitting from the double engine government Shri Bhupendra Patel said, Under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, Pucca houses to the poor, gas connection under Ujjwala Yojana, bank accounts under Jan Dhan Yojana, secured loan assistance to small farmers under PM SVANidhi

    Apart from this, 98 percent of the work under Nal Se Jal has been completed in Gujarat.

    Medical and engineering colleges have been started to increase higher education in the tribal district.  Because of this, the tribal youth have received higher education facilities at the local level. The Chief Minister made an important announcement for Godhra district that, The plan to release water from Kadana Dam to Panam Dam has been given technical approval by the State Government. With the implementation of this scheme, irrigation water will be available for the farmers.

    The Chief Minister requested everyone to move forward together to realize the Prime Minister’s dream of a self-reliant India through a self-reliant Gujarat.

    Minister of State for Tribal Development  Nimisha Suthar said that To realize the spirit of Antyodaya, the then Chief Minister and the present Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has developed the style of providing benefits to the deprived  thorugh Garib Kalyan Mela in Gujarat and this has been carried forward by the Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel. Over the past two decades, the government has gained public trust through an inclusive policy. Due to the clear policy and clear policy, Gujarat has set many records of development. In the beginning, Collector Shri  Sujal Mayatra welcomed everyone while District Development Officer Shri D.K.Baria  gave vote of thanks.

    On this occasion, Deputy Speaker of Gujarat Legislative Assembly Shri Jetha Bharwad, District Panchayat President Kamini Solanki, MP Shri  Ratan Singh Rathore, MLAs District Incharge Shri Rajesh Patel, District BJP President Shri Ashwin Patel, Additional Development Commissioner Shri Arjun Singh Rathore, leaders, office bearers, officials and beneficiaries and citizens were present in large numbers.
