Chief Minister pays tribute to Dr Babasaheb Ambedkar on his birth anniversary

Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani paid his respectful obeisance to Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar on his 129th birth anniversary by offering flowers at the latter’s portrait at the chief minister’s residence here today.

Mr. Rupani said that mere mentioning the name of Dr. Ambedkar meant remembering the world famous personality who ceaselessly worked his entire life for the uplift of the exploited and oppressed to become Maha Manav, a great man. He had two dreams. One was that the most neglected sections of the society get educated and strong so that they become confident. And the other dream was to see India emerge as a developed nation: ‘Nation first, Nation last’.

While the world is fighting the global pandemic from novel coronavirus COVID-19 which made the world a great leveler, his message of social equanimity should make 130-crore Indians fight unitedly..

Mr. Rupani said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s call for countrywide lockdown to unitedly overcome the crisis is in tandem with Dr. Ambedkar’s concept of social equanimity to raise India’s image in the world. It was his vision to harness water resources for generating electricity to improve the country’s economy. He formulated what should be India’s foreign policy and industrial policy to make India self-reliant and improve the condition of workers.

It was Dr. Ambedkar’s dream to unite India through compassion and friendship, to unite the society and not to divide it. He always fought against injustice, and ensured everybody equal opportunity in the Constitution. He gave importance to the women, poor and outcast. His life has one motto: “We are Indian firstly and lastly.”

Mr. Rupani said that let the path shown by Dr. Ambedkar help India become a Vishwa Guru
