“Nature-friendly agriculture will be useful in building Aatmanirbhar Bharat” said Hon’ble Chief Minister
Published by National Council for Climate Change and Sustainable Development and Public Leadership, the book will serve as a guide for Agricultural Growth
Gandhinagar, 06-06-2023: Hon’ble Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel unveiled the book “Agriculture in Amrit Kaal: Skilled Agriculture in Climate Change” today. The book is authored by former Secretary Dr. Kiran Seth and edited by Dr. Odameri of the Florida Agriculture University. It is published by the National Council for Climate Change, Sustainable Development, and Public Leadership.
Addressing the gathering, he said, “Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has steered the country towards ‘Aatmanirbharta’ in the defense sector by promoting domestic manufacturing. Along with that, he emphasizes using chemical-free organic farming, clean and green energy measures for the conservation of the land, and adapting cow-based agricultural practices so that small-scale farmers can be benefitted and become ‘Aatmanirbhar’ across the country.
He also expressed confidence in the concept of organic farming and traditional practices in agriculture for shaping Hon’ble Prime Minister’s vision of ‘Aatmanirbhar Bharat’. He conveyed his readiness to leverage the book “Agriculture in Amrit Kaal: Skilled Agriculture in Climate Change” for the advancement of the agricultural sector in the state.
In his address, Hon’ble Agriculture Minister Shri Raghavjibhai Patel highlighted that this booklet would offer comprehensive guidance to ensure the resilience of agriculture in the face of climate change. He further emphasized that the valuable insights contained in this book would aid the agriculture department in the state in formulating effective policies, leading to an overall enhancement of the state’s agricultural sector.
Dr. Kirit Shelat, the author of the book, offered empowering recommendations aimed at achieving Aatmanirbhar practices in agriculture.
Minister of State for Co-operation Shri Jagdish Vishwakarma, along with senior officers of the state government, chancellors of agricultural universities, and agricultural experts, graced the event with their presence.
