Chief Minister Shri Vijaybhai Rupani at the 2nd convocation of Central University of Gujarat

    Gujarat Chief Minister Vijay Rupani today exhorted the students to utilise their education and knowledge to in the welfare of the society and build a New India as envisioned by the Prime Minister, to face global competition and work for making Mother India a Vishwa Guru.

    Addressing the 2 nd convocation of the Central University of Gujarat here in presence of Education Minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasama, Mr. Rupani said the youth should be proud of their nation and promote the ‘India First’ brand through their words and deeds and learning, with passion and confidence.

    He motivated the youth to re-establish the glory that India had in its ancient universities at Nalanda, Vallabhi and Taxashila, to ensure students from all over the world to study in Indian universities. He called for upgrading the students’ skill and developing curricula, in tune with the needs of the changing times. Gujarat has taken the lead state in providing stipend under Scheme of Developing High Quality Research (SHODH).

    Mr. Rupani congratulated all pass-outs and wished them success in life. He presented gold medals to the meritorious students in various disciplines. He assured of all possible assistance from his government required for excellence and erudition.The Chief Minister and other dignitaries distributed undergraduate, postgraduate, M. Phil and Ph.D. degrees to 368 students.

    The Chancellor of Central University of Gujarat Dr. Hasmukh Adhia gave two mantras to the passing out students: to be ready for hard work in life and to stay away from arrogance. He said that Gujarat Government has started several specialised universities, framed policies, evolved development models and created opportunities for start-ups, as students from other states are coming to Gujarat for higher studies and job opportunities. The Vice-Chancellor Prof. Dubey gave detailed information about the university. The Registrar Prof. Alok Gupta proposed a vote of thanks.
