CM announces agricultural relief package for farmers of affected by heavy rains in Kharif-2021 season

    Gandhinagar, Tuesday:  The state government has announced an agricultural relief package against Kharif crop losses due to heavy rains in the state in the month of September 2021. Gujarat Chief Minister Mr. Bhupendra Patel has announced this agricultural relief package to provide assistance to the farmers of the affected areas keeping in view the crop loss.

    Farmers in the affected areas of Jamnagar, Rajkot, Junagadh and Porbandar districts will get benefit of this relief package. Farmers in such affected villages who have suffered a loss of 33 per cent or more in their crops will be paid assistance of Rs. 13000 per hectare up to a maximum limit of 2 hectares. This assistance will be provided as non-irrigated crop from SDRF provision as per SDRF standards up to a maximum of 6800 per hectare in the limit of 2 hectares. The remaining difference will be provided from the state budget in the limit of 6200 per hectare upto 2 hectares.

    If less than Rs. 5000 assistance is payable as per SDRF standards on the basis of land tenure, then to a minimum of Rs. 5000 per account will be paid and the difference will have to be paid from the state budget.

    To avail the benefit of this relief package, one will have to apply online on Digital Gujarat Portal from 25th October to 20th November. No fee need to be paid for such application.

    Farmer willing to avail the benefit of relief package will have to submit 8-A, Talati vavetar dakhlo, 7-12, Aadhaar number, copy of passbook with bank account details, mobile number also in case of joint account holders one account holder will have to apply to the TDO (Taluka Development Officer) in the prescribed form along with the no-objection consent form etc. signed by other account holders.

    Assistance will be paid only once per Aadhaar number. If one does not have an Aadhaar number, one will need to submit the required documents as per the provisions of the Aadhaar Act.

    In case of death of the account holder, his heirs will have to submit the pedhinama. only one heir will be eligible for assistance and other heirs and other account holders of the account will have to give a consent form in that regard. Assistance will also be provided to the farmers of the land acquired under the Forest Authority Charter. Government, co-operative or institutional landholders will not be eligible for this assistance.
