Gandhinagar, Tuesday: Gujarat Chief Minister Mr. Bhupendra Patel clearly stated that water is no longer the cause of the problem in Gujarat but has become a means of development. Integrated planning of water distribution has made pure drinking water reach the lastmen and water for agriculture to farmers through various irrigation schemes.
CM addressed a function organized by the Water Supply Department at Savli in Vadodara district on the occasion of declaring Vadodara district 100% tap water connected.
After Gandhinagar, Mehsana, Anand, Botad and Porbandar, Vadodara is now the sixth district in the state to get 100% tap water. Along with this, the Chief Minister dedicated and laid foundation stone of a total of 491.39 crore water supply works to strengthen the water distribution system in Vadodara district.
In this regard, he said that our government is constantly trying to provide facilities like cities to every people of the state. CM said that our Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi has decided to provide pure tap water to all the households of the country by the year 2024 under Jal Jeevan Mission. Vadodara district has already achieved this in 2021. With the determination that the Prime Minister’s resolve to supply tap water to all households in the state will be fulfilled in the whole of Gujarat by the year 2022, the work of this scheme is being carried out expeditiously in the state.
Chief Minister said that, our government has decided to cater to the needs of the youngest and every person. India’s performance throughout the world during the COVID-19 pandemic has been remarkable with the mantra of “Sauna Sath, Sauna Vikas, Sauna Vishvas ane Sauna Prayas”.
Mr. Patel also pointed out that while the development journey of Vadodara district is continuously moving forward, the missing links in the development of the district will be filled. He said that 326705 houses in Vadodara district are located in rural areas and all these houses have been covered under Har Ghar Nal Se Jal’s scheme and drinking water has been supplied to 100% of the houses at a cost of Rs 83.90 crore.
CM added that after PMJAY, Maa card-health facilities, water has also reached everyone’s home. Which has led to an increase in public welfare.
Donations were made by leaders and businessmen in the Chief Minister’s Relief Fund and Kanya Kelvani Nidhi.
The keynote address was delivered by Jensen Roy, Chief Executive Officer of Wasmo. MLA of Savli Mr. Ketanbhai Inamdar delivered the thanking note.
