Chief Minister Mr. Vijaybhai Rupani today categorically stated that the Patidaar (Patel) community has made major contribution in the growth of Gujarat.
Speaking at a function organized as a part of Lakshachandi Mahayagna held at Umiyanagar in Unjha town here this evening, in this reference, the Chief Minister further stated that the Patidaar community has always taken frontal position in the progress of the society. Similarly with inclusion of people from all casts in this mahayagna, the Patidaar community has setup the best example of ‘Social Harmony’.
Mr. Rupani termed the event as not just a religious programme but spreading a “social consciousness” among the people of Gujarat.
Praying to Goddess ‘Maa Umiya’ for bestowing her blessings on the state to become strong and competence, the Chief Minister said that the mega event is godly work and could be possible only with united efforts of thousands of people.
On the occasion, Umiya Mataji Sansthan had handed over a donation cheque of Rs. 11-lakh to the Chief Minister for ‘Malnutrition Campaign’. Mr. Rupani also honoured chairmen of various committees with awards and certification for setting up various records.
Those who spoke on the occasion included, Union Agriculture Minister Mr. Parshottam Rupala, Gujarat Education Minister Mr. Bhupendrasinh Chudasama, and others.
Lakshachandi Mahayagna created a dozen records
Lakshachandi Mahayagna Samiti Chairman and legislator Babubhai Jamnadas Patel in his welcome address said the event could be held because of the untiring effort of 22,000 volunteers, 45 committees’ yearlong preparartion. It will be remembered as a red letter day for long time to come.
