CM attends state session on “Opportunities & Challenges for next generation”

Textile Industry is a vital industry to provide employment – Shri Vijay Rupani

Gandhinagar, Saturday: Gujarat Chief Minister Mr. Vijay Rupani today addressed in state session on textiles “Opportunities and Challenges for next generation” as a part of Textiles India – 2017 which was organized in presence of Union Textile Minister Mrs. Smriti Irani and representatives of industry-business from textiles industry here in Mahatma Mandir of Gandhinagar.

During his address, he expressed his commitment to extend textile industry of Gujarat at global level with 100% production made from formation of Garment Zone in Coastal Economic Zone across the state. In this context he clearly said that Gujarat became center of attraction since centuries of textile industry. It is time to fulfill the vision of our Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi with making it competitive along with giving it proper and modernize shape. We have to provide employment to about 1 lakh people through textile sector by allocating housing and employment to craftsmen at the production house situated in coastal economic zone. This expo and seminar will provide new pace for textile industry of Gujarat, he added.

He considered present era as the best time for textiles and said that under the capable leadership of our Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi has created atmosphere to convert in opportunity in textile sector of Indian and Gujarat from the challenges through integrated vision of the whole system. Textile industry is the industry which provides huge opportunities for an employment. He briefed people about the advancement in the whole chain of yarn – cloth – weaving made from best cotton to survive for Gujarat in global market. He briefed people about various schemes introduced by the state and union government for welfare of tribal artisans in skill development, education and for providing raw-material to weavers.

Union Textile Minister Mrs. Smriti Irani said that this platform is a great opportunities for the Traditional textile industrialists to expose their products. This event has become a medium to bring textile Industry & handicrafts at one spot. She expressed confidence that with the formula of our PM Mr. Modi of Five-F the new generation of textile industrialist will get new opportunities for development. She even thanked the State Government for the active cooperation in the event.

Union Textile Secretary Mr. Amitkumar Singh and Chief Secretary of Gujarat Mr. J. N. Singh gave occasional speeches. Textile Minister Mr. Rohitbhai Patel, Textile Principal Secretary Mr. Manojkumar Das and other leaders, Administrators and Representatives joined the session.
