CM calls for feasibility report to set up Toy Park in Gujarat, augment housing and other infrastructure in GIDC Estates

Chief Minister Vijay Rupani here today called for preparing a feasibility report to explore the potential of setting up a Toy Park to develop the toy industry in Gujarat.

He was presiding over a high level meeting to discuss overall development of the Gujarat Industrial Development Corporation (GIDC) Estates, including housing and common infrastructure facilities.

The meeting was attended by GIDC Chairman Balwantsinh Rajput, Chief Minister’s Chief Principal Secretary Kailashnathan, Chief Minister’s Additional Chief Secretary and Additional Chief Secretary for Industries M. K. Das, GIDC Managing Director Thennarsan and other senior officers.

The Chief Minister suggested multi-storied buildings for industrial sheds in urban areas, to fit in more small and medium sized industries in and around towns.

He suggested developing common infrastructure and other facilities, more importantly a system, in the GIDC Estates. The report could prepare 4-5 modules to suit different parameters in different regions. In the wake of setting up more GIDC Estates in the state, he said a demand survey could be prepared.

Mr. Rupani called for early settlement of land acquisition for GIDC Estates, which had slowed down a little for past some time.

He suggested early commissioning of the desalination plant being set up at Dahej in Bharuch district before the scheduled time, and also development and allotment  of plots at the IT Park at GIFT City in Gandhinagar.

Mr. Rupani also called for making the functioning of the GIDC Estates more industry-friendly, like developing a single-window with all facilities under one roof, for the new industries coming to the state.
