Under Gujarat Resilience City Development Program, Ahmedabad gets Rs. 3 thousand crore loan from World bank
Ahmedabad is the first choice in Gujarat in the loan provided by the World Bank under this program for developing cities of the country
Expansion and renovation of various infrastructural facilities and technology upgradation works will be undertaken from the loan provided by world bank
World Bank delegation will complete the entire loan process by July 20

Gandhinagar, Thursday: Under the Gujarat Resilient City Development Program, Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation gets a loan of approximately Rs 3,000 crore by the World Bank. Under this program, loans for various infrastructure development works are provided by the World Bank for developing cities of the country.
Accordingly, the process of disbursement of this loan by the World Bank to Ahmedabad as the first choice in Gujarat has been undertaken. A high level meeting of officials of Urban Development Department and Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation with representatives of World Bank in this regard was organized in Gandhinagar under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel.
The meeting was attended by Minister of State for Urban Development Shri Vinodbhai Mordiya, World Bank Representative Ms. Meskarin Barhane, Roland White and Harsh Goyal as well as Additional Chief Secretary to the Chief Minister Shri Pankaj Joshi, Principal Secretary for Urban Development Shri Mukesh Kumar and Ahmedabad Municipal Commissioner Shri Lochan Shehra.
Under the Resilient City Development Program, loans are provided by the World Bank to the concerned municipalities for carrying out sustainable and timely development works with future long term planning. A presentation with outline of various projects undertaken by Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation in this regard was presented at this meeting. The projects shall be planned taking in consideration the needs of Ahmedabad residents till 2050
The work of which projects are to be carried out under the loan of Rs. 3000 crore allotted to Ahmedabad include increasing the capacity of existing STPs and technology upgradation, construction of new STPs, construction of tertiary treatment plants for industrial reuse, rehabilitation of existing main drainage lines and construction of new micro tunnelling lines and construction of Kharikat canal and its conservation and storm water drainage line works.
Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel gave guidance in the meeting to start these works quickly and complete them on time. Representatives of the World Bank team were impressed with the development of Gujarat and the advanced development of Heritage City Ahmedabad.
The World Bank team will be in Ahmedabad till April 13 to get the reports of these projects of the corporation and then on that basis this loan will be given to the corporation after completing the procedures by next July.
