Gandhinagar, Monday: A high level meeting was held in Gandhinagar by Minister of State for Railways Smt Darshana Jardosh for the smooth coordination of state-central for various railway related projects of Gujarat under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel.
While Gujarat is at the forefront in implementing PM Gati Shakti, This meeting will be beneficial in speedily resolving big and small issues like D.F.I.C. High speed rail project, gauge conversion of various railway lines in the state and railway overbridge as well as electrification through mutual coordination.
Considering Gujarat gets the benefit of both central and state double engine government, Minister of State for Railways Smt Darshana Jardosh expects important railway projects of the state to be completed timely. She also requested for a review meeting to be conducted monthly between the concerned officers of the Union Railway Ministry and senior officials of the departments of the State Government.
The Union Minister appreciated the fact that 98.7 per cent land acquisition in Gujarat under Ahmedabad-Mumbai High Speed Rail has been completed with the active cooperation of the Revenue Department of the State Government and therefore he thanked Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel. Minister of State for Railways Smt. Darshana Jardosh also extended an invitation to Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel to visit the site in the coming days to see the progress of the work of this high speed rail during his visit Surat, Bharuch and Navsari. Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel told the officials present in the meeting that, such atmosphere should be created where the pending issues related to railways between the state and the Central could be resolved through mutual understanding and discussion.
In this regard, he directed the Chief Secretary, Shri Pankaj Kumar to set up an institutionalized system for various issues including dedicated freight corridor, state-central partnership in railway overbridge and to carry out a review meeting after one month to resolve the questions that come up.
In this meeting Minister of Revenue Shri Rajendra Trivedi, Road and Building Minister Shri Purnesh Modi, Minister of state for Urban Development Shri Vinod Moradiya, Chief Principal Secretary to CM Shri Kailashnathan , Chief Secretary Shri Pankaj Kumar also senior secretaries of the state government as well as senior officials of the Ministry of Railways and Western Railway High Speed Rail Corporation, D.F.I.C. were present.
