PM awards Surat’s “Rubber Girl” Anvi Zanzarukia with ‘Pradhan Mantri Rashtriya Bal Puraskar 2022’

Gandhinagar, Monday: Despite her physical disability, Anvi Zanzarukia, a daughter of Surat, who has achieved the title of ‘The Rubber Girl’ with her hard work and resourcefulness, was awarded the National Child Award on Monday 24th January 2022 by Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi on the occasion of ‘National Girl Child Day’.
Union Ministry of Women and Child Development Welfare received applications from over 600 children across the country for the Prime Minister’s National Child Award. From which 29 children were selected for the year 2022. Anvi, the only daughter of Gujarat and Surat, has made the whole of Gujarat proud by achieving this award from Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi, she was awarded through ‘Block Chain Technology’ and a cash prize of Rs. 1 lakh.
This award is given to children between the age of five to eighteen who have achieved remarkable achievements in the fields of sports, social service, education, art and culture.
Gujarat Chief Minister Mr. Bhupendra Patel congratulated Divyang daughter of Gujarat for receiving the National Child Award.
Daughter of Gujarat, who raised the pride of Surat and Gujarat, will be honoured at the state level function to be held on the upcoming 26th January 2022 in Gir Somnath district.
Anvi has been battling various physical and mental ailments since her birth. She had an open heart surgery due to a congenital heart defect, and is currently suffering from mitral valve leakage. There is damage to the large intestine due to 21 trisomy and Hirschsprung’s disease (HD). Although she has 75% intellectual disability and has difficulty in speaking, she started learning yoga at the age of 11 and as a result of yoga she has achieved this goal.
Despite her many physical problems and limitations, Anvi has won gold medals in various state and national championships in yoga through her fortitude and hard work. She has won 3 gold medals and 2 bronze medals in national level yoga competitions in the last three years. She has participated in a total of 42 yoga competitions, and has won 51 medals. Anvi can do more than 112 asanas. Not only that, Anvi has also got over two lakh likes on social media platforms.
13-year-old Anvi Zanzarukia was awarded the National Award in the ‘Creative Child with Disability Category’ by the Union Ministry of Social Justice and Empowerment through President of India Mr. Ramnath Kovind on 3rd December 2021 for her outstanding contribution in Yogasana.
Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi interacted with about 6 children from different states across the nation who received the National Child Award and encouraged them.
CM while praising these achievements of Anvi said that she is a role model for Divyangs who can lead a normal life with a little more effort. He also congratulated the daughter Anvi Vijaybhai Zanzarukia, winner of National Child Award, for raising the pride of Gujarat and Surat on the national stage.
Anvi’s parents Mr. Vijay and Mrs. Avni, Surat Mayor Mrs. Hemali Boghawala as well as district administration officials were present at the Surat District Collectorate on the occasion when the Prime Minister handed over the award and prize money while addressing through Block Chain Technology.
