Members of royal families of 562 merged princely state thanked CM for his decision to build museum narrating their ‘Royal Sagas’

The members of royal families today welcome and expressed gratitude to Chief Minister Mr. Vijaybhai Rupani for his decision to build a museum showcasing royal sagas of 562 princely states of India in proximity of the Statue of Unity at Kevadia, in Gujarat.

The meeting held under the Chairmanship of the Chief Minister in Gandhinagar, today, was attended by the members of royal families of princely states located in Saurashtra, Kutch and many other parts of India. The meeting was also attended by Ministers – Mr. Bhupendrasinh Chudasama, Mr. Jaydrathsinh Parmar, Mr. Dharmendrasinh Jadeja and others.

In the meeting, the Chief Minister said that the proposed world class museum, to be built at Kevadia, would depict the royal sagas of 562 princely states which were immediately merged into India after the independence.

Mr. Rupani further stated that by building the world’s tallest statue ‘Statue of Unity’ (SoU) of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Prime Minister Mr. Narendrabhai Modi has not just paid a rich tribute to him for his contributions in uniting India, but, has also fulfilled his envision of ‘One India, Best India’.

The uniqueness of India has been exhibited to the visitors through Ekta Nursery, Ekta Bhavan and other features built at the SoU. In addition to these, the unity of Indians has been showcased through ‘Ekta Mall’; though they have different language, traditional dresses, cultures and arts and terrains.

Mr. Rupani said that the entire arrangement at the Statue of Unity Complex is around the theme of Unity, making it necessary for the tourists from India to feel a sense of unity, realise Sardar Patel’s commitment to unite 562 erstwhile princely states — the latter’s history, pride, valour as inspiration for the new generation.

He said that our government is marching ahead with presenting the real history before the people, in tandem with Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s mantra of Ek Bharat; Shreshth Bharat.

The Kevadia complex will have accommodation for 5,000 with a target of one crore tourists per year, it being 40 lakh tourists per year at present.

The Chief Minister thanked the princely states for their cooperation and feelings. He said that a committee will be formed comprising government representatives and families of princely states to seek their suggestions to build a majestic museum, fast in a time bound manner.

The representative of princely states felicitated Chief Minister with turban and mementos. Rajkot family’s Mandhatasinh Jadeja introduced others present at the meeting.

Education Minister Bhupendrasinh Chudasama also spoke on the occasion.
