CM dedicates food processing plant – waste to bio energy plant at Surat APMC

Desirous to double the income of farmers within 5 years with value addition and modernize agricultural system – Shri Vijaybhai Rupani

Gandhinagar, Thursday: Gujarat Chief Minister Mr. Vijay Rupani has dedicated food processing plant and bio-waste to bio energy plant of Surat Agriculture Produce Market Committee – APMC with a cost of Rs. 40.49 crore at Surat today. He said that this government made prosper to farmers and their farms as well with new initiatives such as agriculture welfare, value addition and food processing. Under leadership of our Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi, Government of Gujarat is making efforts in the direction to make dream of Pandit Deendayal ‘Har Haath Ko Kaam, Har Khet Ko Paani’ come true.

Congratulating APMC he said that as a result to the huge bio CNG plant our nation has witnessed the creativity of farmers of Gujarat and Surat for their capacity to make best from the waste. This government has taken the initiative for transparency in administration in APMC and has excluded fruit and vegetables from the list of controlled commodity. As a result now on any one can purchase fruits and vegetables without license from APMC and the farmers could get competitive rate as well. Mr. Modi led Union Government has set the target to double the income of farmers within next 5 years. And APMC and the State Government are committed to fulfill it with such value addition, he added.

Mr. Rupani said that we are performing with spirit of prosper farmer – prosper village, prosper poor person – prosper society. We have prepared a prosper scheme to reach waters of Narmada at North Gujarat – Kutch areas. This Government has Purchased 1600 crore groundnut and tur dal at MSP from the farmers to save their crops. We have taken farmer oriented steps with providing assistance subsidy loan at 1% to farmers and fencing at cost of Rs. 700 crore to prevent crop from pig and rojda, he added.

Minister of State for Revenue Department Mr. Bhupendrasinh Chudasama and APMC Chairman Mr. Ramanbhai Jani gave occasional speech. On the occasion Minister of State for Forest and Tribal Welfare Department Mr. Ganpatsinh Vasava, Minister of State for Education Department Mr. Nanubhai Vanani, Minister of State for Cooperation Mr. Ishwarsinh Patel, Parliamentary secretary Purneshbhai Modi, MP Ms. Darshanaben Jardosh, Mr. C. R. Patil, Mr. Prabhubhai Vasava, Surat District Panchayat President and MLAs were remained present.
