Gandhinagar, Tuesday: Gujarat Chief Minister Mr. Bhupendra Patel today dedicated multi-storeyed 560 “B” and “C” type government quarters of “Veer Bhagat Singh Nagar” built at a cost of Rs. 149.80 crore in Gandhinagar on the occasion of Diwali festival.
On the occasion of the inauguration of 280 ‘B’ type and 280 ‘C’ type houses constructed by the Road Building Department of the State Government, Road Building Minister Mr. Purnesh Modi, MP Shri Narhari Amin, Newly appointed Mayor of Gandhinagar Mr. Hitesh Makwana, Deputy Mayor Premalsinh Gol, Standing Committee Chairman Mr. Jashwantbhai Patel, Secretary Mr. Sandeep Vasava, Chief Engineer Mr. Patelia and leaders joined CM.
Griha pravesh pooja was performed on the occasion and CM visited the “C” type block to inspect the facilities provided in the new accommodations. The accommodations are equipped with advanced facilities like vitrified tiles, fixed furniture, PNG gas pipeline connection, lift, fire safety facility, children’s play area, garden, spacious parking and security cabin.
CM also distributed housing allotment letters to five beneficiaries. As a tradition of naming government settlements after national heroes, these 560 quarters have been renamed as “Veer Bhagat Singh Nagar”. In the last five years in Gandhinagar, with the naming of Shyamjikrishna Varma Park, Veer Savarkar Nagar and Vandemataram Park, a total of 1120 houses have been prepared by the Road Building Department at a cost of Rs. 219 crores. Not only that, construction work of 1456 houses at a cost of Rs 365 crore is in progress.
Beneficiary Government employees as well their family members joined on the occasion of inauguration of this “B” and “C” type government quarters of “Veer Bhagat Singh Nagar”.
