CM directs to handover entire investigation of Surat hooch incidence to ATS-SP

Gujarat Chief Minister Mr. Vijay Rupani has decided to hand over the entire investigation of unnatural deaths in Surat district to Superintendent of Police of ATS.

 In this regard Minister of State for Home Department Mr. Pradeepsinh Jadeja said that due to consumption of suspicious drink in rural areas of Surat, several people died unnatural death. In this regard the state government has formed a committee under headship of Additional Director General of Police Mr. V M Pargi and asked them to handover the report within three days to the State Government.

The state government asked them to strictly investigate about the usage of liquid methanol, from where did it come, from whom did it came, who supplied it and is there any negligence of any official or department in this incident.

Mr. Jadeja clearly said that under leadership of Mr. Vijay Rupani, this government is committed to strict adherence of alcohol prohibition in the state. Chief Minister instructed through video conference with DIGs, Additional Chief Secretary to Home Department and all police commissioners across the state, range IGs, and SPs for implementation of 100% alcohol prohibition across the state. Chief Minister has decided that the state government will bear complete expenditure of the treatment for the affected people in the incident, he added.

Mr. Jadeja said that Mr. Rupani’s existing BJP government is committed to take strict action against any activities regarding manufacture, consumption and sale of liquor in Gujarat.
