Gujarat CM Gives in-principle Approval to Sea-water Desalination Plant in Jodiya of Jamnagar

Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Vijay Rupani gave principle approval for the formation of Seawater desalination plant in Jodiya taluka of Jamnagar for the partial safety of drinking water in the urban-rural areas of Saurashtra and Kutch.

This desalination plant will be useful to fulfill water requirements and safety including Narmada water-based irrigation in future. After desalination process, daily 10 crore liters’ of water will be distributed in the urban-rural districts of Jamnagar, Devbhoomi Dwarka, Rajkot, Porbandar, Morbi and Kutch.

The State Government will operate the plant on Public Private Partnership basis. The water of Jodiya desalination plant will be reached to 55 kms away in Hirapar sump of Morbi through connecting pipeline. Then the water will be distributed to the concerned villages and cities.
