The eighth consecutive cabinet meeting was heldthrough video conference under the chairmanship of Chief Minister Shri Vijay Rupani.The Chief Minister had a comprehensive review of the relaxations given in the fourth phase of lockdown and the implementation of the lockdown in the state with the ministes.
Secretary to Chief Minister Shri Ashwini Kumar gave the details of the meeting.
Chief Minister said that many relaxations are given in the fourth lockdown keeping in mind the needs of small people, poor, daily wage earners, labourers and middle class citizens of the state.
Chief Minister said that corona virus crisis is not over yet, but now we need to learn to live withit, to keep ourselves safe against it and restart our normal life. We need toaccept it as a part of our life.
As per the relaxations given in lockdow 4.0, now the businesses and shops are opened in the market. Shri Rupani made an appeal to people not to rush to markets and create crowd there.
He also requested the traders, businessmen and shop owners to follow the rules laid down by the state government. Not more than 5 people are allowed in the shops. Shri Rupani said that social distancing must be strictly followed and wearing mask is compulsory for all the customers and the shop owners.
There was also a discussion on ‘Aatmanirbhar Gujarat Sahay Yojana’ in this cabinet meeting. Under this scheme, a loan up to Rs.1,00,000 will be given at the interest rate of 2% for the period of 3 years by Co-operative Banks, Urban Co-operative Banks and Credit Societies in the state. The forms to avail this loan will be distributed at more than 9000 branches of such Co-aoperative Banks and Credit Societies across the state from Thursday 21st May, 2020.
The Chief Minister said that this scheme will provide a much needed support to the common man and help them in reviving their financial condition.
Deputy Chief Minister Shri Nitinbhai Patel, Education Minister Shri Bhupendrasinh Chudasama, Energy Minister Shri Saurabh bhai Patel and Home Minister Shri Pradipsinh Jadeja and other ministers of the state cabinet also joined this video conference meeting.
