CM holds cabinet meeting to make comprehensive review of current Coronavirus lockdown situation in Gujarat

    Chief Minister Mr. Vijaybhai Rupani today chaired the Gujarat Cabinet’s meeting held through the third consecutive video conference for comprehensive overall reviewing and discussing the situations on spreading of Coronavirus, works of the health department and distributions of food grains and situation emerging out of the prevalent lockdown in the state.

    The video conference meeting held from the Chief Minister’s residence in Gandhinagar was also attended by district collectors from their respective headquarters. In the meeting, Gujarat Cabinet made several important decisions.

    In the meeting as per the guidelines of the Central Government, a final shape was given to a master plan to provide concession to the industries, construction activities and other financial activities of the state. The master plan would be announced tomorrow.

    As the current season of summer is set-on, the Chief Minister instructed the District Collectors and  Ministers In-Charge to chalk out a plan in coordination with  each other to prevent shortage of drinking waters in the districts, tehsils, cities and villages of the state. Taking a decision in favour of the farmers, Mr. Rupani also issued instructions to immediately purchase stocks of Chana (chickpeas) and Raido through GUJCOMASOL.

    The Chief Minister also guided the District Collectors to ensure that previously taken decisions in favour of cotton and groundnuts growing farmers to allow functioning of oil and ginning mills, should remain be operational and inflow of groundnuts in the  market remain constant.

    The Chief Minister also instructed to the District Collectors that in the present situation of lockdown they should ensure that supply chains of essential commodities and day-to-day needs, including foodgrains, for the citizens are maintain constantly.

    The Chief Minister also reviewed the ongoing testing of Corona patients in most districts of the state. He also instructed to setup arrangements in a day or two in remaining districts to start testing for identifying the Corona positive patients in remaining districts and also to initiative their treatments.

    The Chief Minister said the distribution of 10 kg of wheat, 3 kg of rice, 1 kg of chickpeas  and 1 kg of sugar are being supplied at free of cost to 60-lakh APL-1 card holders middle class families from 17,000 government approved ration shops in the state. So far, over 25-lakh beneficiary families have availed the benefits of this. The district administrations have been instructed to finish this on priority basis.
