The seventh edition of the annual statewide ‘Gunotsav’ to improve the quality of primary education will be held in Gujarat from January 16-18, 2017.
Addressing a brainstorming session of the office-bearers, IAS, IPS, IFS and other government officers and employees scheduled to fan out across the state to participate in the campaign, Chief Minister Shri Vijay Rupani here today said that Gujarat’s initiative has over the years emerged as a role model for qualitative improvement in basic education for the country.
CM Shri Rupani called for equipping the government primary schools with all teaching aids, telling children how to use slate, pen or tablets as part of their curriculum, necessary in this Age of Knowledge in this 21st Century. The need is teach the students culture and manners, to make them strong in basic knowledge at the primary school stage itself, prepare them for nation building to walk shoulder-to-shoulder with their peers in the world. If the foundation remains weak, it will be national loss.
Education Minister Shri Bhupendrasinh Chudasma, Minister of State for Primary Education Shri Nanubhai Vanani and Principal Secretary Ms. Sunaina Tomar also remained present in the meeting.
