CM inaugurates I-Create’s Electric Vehicle Center of Excellence

    Encourages young startups by inspecting e-vehicle startups

    i-Create’s Center of Excellence will give a new impetus to the ecosystem for the success of Gujarat’s E-Vehicle Policy-2021 in achieving the target of using electric vehicles by 2030


    Gandhinagar, Friday: Gujarat Chief Minister Mr. Bhupendra Patel visited International Centre for Entrepreneurship and Technology i-Create campus and got in-depth information about the innovative research and activities of various startups. He encouraged them by having direct conversations with young startups.

    Gujarat Chief Minister accompanied by Chief Secretary Mr. Pankaj Kumar visited i-Create Campus situated near Dev Dholera in Ahmedabad District.

    During the visit Gujarat Chief Minister Mr. Bhupendra Patel also inaugurated i-Create’s Electric Vehicle Centre of Excellence.

    i-Create EV Centre of Excellence is running several initiatives ranging from creating a unique and integrated open-source platform for small electric vehicles to developing a Green Urban Mass Mobility Platform as an open standard for cities.

    To support the Government of India’s target of 2030 Electric Vehicles (EVs), the State Government has formulated the Gujarat Electric Vehicle Policy-2021. It also includes schemes as a subsidy / incentive for EV buyers and those who invest in the development of EV infrastructure.

    The initiative taken by a leading organization like i-Create to make EVs a focus area for the need to support the innovative ecosystem for the success of this policy will help Gujarat in using EV technology.

    i-Create, in collaboration with Startup India and Uber, recently launched the Green Mobility Innovation Challenge to support progressive ideas for increasing the use and adoption of electric vehicles. About 400 entries of EV innovators came from all over India in this challenge.

    Gujarat Chief Minister congratulated the winners of this EVangelise and also the winners of i-Create’s Mega Innovation Challenge for 2 and 3 Wheeler Electric Vehicles (EVs).

    i-Create’s EV Centre of Excellence is partnering with leading companies of the industry.

    On this occasion, Gujarat Chief Minister conducted a meeting to review the future plans of i-Create and provided inspiration by  interacting with several startups supported by i-Create.

    Chief Secretary Mr. Pankaj Kumar, Industry Commissioner Mr. Rahul Gupta, i- Create Founding Team Member Mr. K. Thyagrajan, Mr. M.C. Gupta, Business Head Mr. Rajiv Bose, Administration Head Mr. Vijay Nair, Marketing Head Smt. Payal Patel were present.
