CM inaugurates ‘Kankaria Carnival – 2022’ at Heritage City Ahmedabad

Gandhinagar, Sunday: Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel inaugurated of ‘Kankaria Carnival-2022’ from Ahmedabad. He said that the then Chief Minister and current Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has set an outstanding example of good governance by changing the look of Kankaria and developing citizen centric services in Ahmedabad. As a result of Mr. Narendra Modi‘s visionary planning, today this lakefront has become a popular recreation spot. 

CM said that, Ahmedabad has many memories related to the freedom struggle. Gandhiji established ashrams here, Dandi Kuch started from Ahmedabad, Bapu managed many important activities from Ahmedabad itself. 

A symbol of good governance, the beautiful Atal Bridge is enhancing the beauty of Ahmedabad. The theme of ‘Gandhi Bridge to Atal Bridge’ is very fitting for the launch of the Kankaria Carnival. Not only this, the programs under this theme will highlight the proud history of Ahmedabad. 

This festival is being organized after two years, so the enthusiasm of the people is doubled. This time too, cultural programs, folk dances, dances, laser beam show, yoga-aerobics, live characters, food festival, horse show and dog show by Gujarat police, besides adventure activities for young children have been organized in the carnival. Along with this, Kankaria’s kids city, toytrain, zoo, aquarium, etc. can be enjoyed by the citizens and blood donation camps have been organized on all seven days of the carnival.

Talking about Panchmahotsav inaugurated in Pavagadh premises from Ahmedabad CM said that, glimpses of how Gujarat has embraced modernity can be seen in the Kankaria Carnival and the splendor of Gujarat’s cultural richness and traditional Lok Mela can be seen in the Pavagadh Panchmahotsav. Our Prime Minister has given the goal of making India a developed country. 

On this occasion, Chief Minister Shri Bhupendrabhai Patal also expressed his gratitude to the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation and all the organizers for organizing the Kankaria Carnival beautifully on the theme of Amrit Mahotsav of Azadi. 

On this occasion the Mayor of Ahmedabad Shri Kirit Parmar said that the then Chief Minister Shri NarendraModi transformed the Kankaria lake and made Kankaria a world class tourist destination. Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation is committed to take forward this development journey of the city. 

On this occasion Deputy Mayor of Ahmedabad Mr. Gitaben Patel, Municipal Commissioner Mr. M. Thannasaran, MLAs and citizens were present in large numbers.
