CM inaugurates Kaushalya – The Skill University’s “Drone Mantra” Lab

Gandhinagar, Saturday: Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel while inaugurating the National Conference on Drone Technology in Ahmedabad clearly stated that, Under the direction of Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi Gujarat has always made a successful attempt to be at the forefront in every sector.
In this context he said that Gujarat is well equipped to accomplish Prime Minister’s call to see that each and every person is benefited from science and technology through the spread of drone technology.
Not only this, the state government is also committed to promote vocational education, courses that provide new opportunities to improve skills in youth and also to provide them with employment through modern technology.
Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel was addressing on the occasion of the inauguration of the National Conference on Drone Technology and the launching of the “Drone Mantra” Lab organized by the Labour, Skill Development and Employment Department, Government of Gujarat and Kaushalya – The Skill University.
He further added that Drone technology is one such sector which has huge potential to keep progressing further. The state government has also premeditated to start various trainings through Kaushalya University’s School of Drones to promote it.
For this purpose, arrangements have been made to provide drone pilot training – drone training in 50 ITI’s of the state, the Chief Minister added.
Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel said that, Under the direction of the Prime Minister, The scope of drone technology has expanded from fields to playgrounds and to life-saving in times of need and emergencies.
He said, There was a time when any technology or innovative research in the world came to India after a long period of time, now Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has developed such willingness in science and technology in the country that as soon as the advanced technology comes to us the same thing is seen in other countries as well.
In this context Shri Bhupendra Patel specially mentioned the vaccine developed by India during the pandemic.
The Chief Minister added that drones have become a means to provide delivery services to the doorsteps in remote areas.
There are huge opportunities for the use of drone technology in the field of tourism, disaster, media and also in the field of surveillance and research. He said, Gujarat has also taken the initiative of using drones to spray medicine in the field.
In this conference, Shri Atulkumar Tiwari, Secretary, Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship, Government of India said, The central government is committed to making India a global drone hub by the year 2030. He further said that Gujarat has always been at the forefront. Kaushalya – The Skill University will lead to unparalleled work in the field of drones, Through which we will help in developing drone sector and bring drone policy in other states as well.
He added, I am grateful to the Government of Gujarat for inviting me to participate in today’s National Conference on Drone Technology. Through this conference we will also get many suggestions which we can work on it for the future.
On this occasion Dr. Anju Sharma, Additional Chief Secretary of Labour, Skill Development and Employment Department said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision is to make India a drone hub.
Under the leadership of the Chief Minister, we are working towards making Gujarat the capital of drone technology in the entire country. She further said, Constant guidance and cooperation of the Chief Minister has been received in the field of drones.
In this national level conference organized by Kaushalya – The Skill University, more than 50 industries working in the field of drones, officials of the Ministry of Civil Aviation and Ministry of Skill Development and Entrepreneurship of the Central Government, officials of the related departments of the State Government in the field of drones, researchers, drone startups together with approximately around 400 dignitaries will participate.
It is worth mentioning here that to accomplish Prime Minister’s call to make the country a ‘drone hub’ in view of the need for various uses of drones in the country, along with this conference, “Drone Mantra” Lab of Kaushalya – The Skill University was also launched by the Chief Minister.
In which along with drone manufacturing drone training facility can also be availed.
Along with drone manufacturing training, drones will also be produced, through which drone training can be conducted in all the districts of the state, Moreover new uses and researches of drones would also be encouraged.
Apart from this, the youth will also get an opportunity to study drone data analysis and programming course along with drone manufacturing.
Various IIT’s, NIT’s, leading engineering colleges of the country, industries and startups working in the field of drones will participate in the National Drone Hackathon and present their solutions/prototypes for the areas designated for this hackathon.
In this conference, Chairman of Quality Council of India Shri Jaxay Shah, Registrar of Kaushalya – The Skill University Shri H.R. Suthar, Chief Skill Co-ordinator Shri P.A. Mistry etc were present.
