CM lays foundation stone of hostel set up by Shri Saurashtra Patel Seva Samaj in Surat

    Gandhinagar, Friday:  Prime Minister Mr. Narendra Modi performed the Bhoomi Poojan ceremony of Hostel built by Saurashtra Patel Seva Samaj in Surat via video conferencing. He expressed his faith that “we will all come together to fulfil the dream of Sardar Patel of uninterrupted development without any obstacle of caste and creed.

    Addressing the gathering, the Prime Minister praised the spirit of people of Gujarat and said that it is a matter of pride for him that in the tasks of social development, Gujarat has always taken a lead. He remembered Sardar Patel on the occasion and quoted the great leader to emphasize that caste and creed should not be allowed to hinder the task of national development.  “We are all sons and daughters of India. We all should love our country, make our destiny with mutual affection and cooperation”, the Prime Minister quoted Sardar Patel.

    Gujarat Chief Minister Mr. Bhupendra Patel performed the ground breaking ceremony of phase-1 of Hostel while foundation stones were laid by Mrs. Jamnaben Chhaganbhai Gondalia of Vidyarthi Bhavan and Radhaben Harjibhai Ghelani of Atithibhavan.

    Addressing the function digitally from New Delhi PM said, the strong and motivating efforts of the Patidar community will create the best facilities for student accommodation, study and a modern library, which will give a new direction by empowering the young students of this society.

    Greeting on the occasion of Vijyadashmi, PM said that it is a symbol of the victory of divine power over demonic power. The modern hostel will not only be a building to build the future of the future generation of the country but will also provide inspiration to live according to the ideals of Sardar Saheb. Staying in this hostel, which is a realization of the hard work of the elders, the youth will contribute to the formation of their family, society and country through knowledge.

    PM lauded the active and noble efforts of Saurashtra Patel Seva Samaj, Sardardham for the empowerment of the youth of Patidar Samaj as well as for girls’ education and upliftment of women. Every Gujarati is inspired by the Gurjarratnas, including Ratna Bhaikaka of Vallabha vidyanagar and former Finance Minister H.M. Patel, the founder of Kadi Sarva Vidyalaya Chhaganbhai.

    Recalling Sardar Saheb’s contribution to the nation, the Prime Minister said that Gujarat is carrying forward the legacy of Sardar Patel. It was the nature of Sardar Patel to move forward with mutual affection and cooperation, which we have accepted with the motto of “Rashtra Pratham”.

    PM continued about his experience of serving Gujarat as Chief Minister and said that a person like him with no caste-base in politics was blessed by the people to serve the state. He praised the strength of the blessings of the people that enabled him to continue serving the state and later, the entire country for more than twenty years without any break. He said “what is the power of ‘Sabka Saath, Sabka Vikas’, I learnt this from Gujarat itself” recalling that earlier, there was a lack of good schools in Gujarat, there was a shortage of teachers for good education. The Prime Minister narrated how he connected people to solve this problem.

    The Prime Minister said in the new National Education Policy, the option of teaching professional courses in the local language has also been given. Now studies are not limited to degrees, but studies are being linked with skills. The country is now connecting its traditional skills with modern possibilities.

    Prime Minister termed the newly appointed Chief Minister Mr. Bhupendra Patel as a moderate, public servant, non-controversial, rich in spiritual personality and expressed confidence that Gujarat’s development journey would move forward at a faster pace with his grass root level public life experience.

    Gujarat Chief Minister Mr. Bhupendra Patel greeted the people on the occasion of Vijyadashmi and said that Vijayadashami has been a festival that inspires to be victorious by fighting against demonic forces for centuries.

    The mainstay of development is education. With the determination to make the youth ‘Global Youth’, the Prime Minister has encouraged Gyanshakti. The 21st century is the century of Knowledge Patel community has made a significant contribution to the determination of the state government to keep Gujarat at the forefront of knowledge and to enrich the new generation with the wealth of knowledge. He proudly said that ‘diamonds’ in the field of education will now emerge from the diamond city of Surat.

    Chief Minister congratulated the leaders of the Patidar community. In this regard, he further said that after Sardardham and Kelvanidham in Gujarat, the Bhoomi Poojan by Saurashtra Patel Seva Samaj will boost the motto of “Sauna Saath, Sauna Vikas and Sauna Vishwas”.

    CM further said that Gujarat has taken the initiative of sectoral universities under the leadership of the Prime Minister. Gujarat has emerged as an education hub in the field of education by establishing ‘Children University’, Teachers University, Rakshasakti University, Law University, Deendayal Energy University, Kamadhenu University as well as various leading educational institutions in the state.

    President of Saurashtra Patel Seva Samaj, Surat Mr. Kanjibhai Bhalala said,  31-foot-tall panch dhatu (five-metal) statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel with a 10-foot stage will be installed in the hostel premises at a cost of Rs 2.51 crore. While the statue of Sardar Saheb’s daughter Maniben Patel will be installed in the girl’s hostel. There will be a Patidar Gallery with a digital touch highlighting the 2000-year history of Patidars. The target is to give 5,000 government jobs and higher occupations to youth by 2030.

    The first phase of the hostel project will cost Rs. 70 crore during the year 2021 to 2023 for the construction of boys hostels and Rs. 40 crore for the year 2022 to 2024 for girl’s hostels. Besides, Mrs. Radhaben Harjibhai Ghelani Atithi Bhavan will also be built in the same premises. All kinds of facilities will be set up for the higher education of the students of Patidar Samaj keeping in view the present times. Excellent arrangements will also be made for study training, guidance and encouragement.

    On this occasion Union Minister of Health Mr. Mansukhbhai Mandvia, Union Minister of State for Railways and Textiles Smt.
