‘We need not to be afraid during the difficult times. But, we should change the difficulty into an opportunity’, Mr. Vijaybhai Rupani, Gujarat Chief Minister, said while inaugurating ‘The 25th Vasantotsav’ with lighting a lamp at a function organized in Gandhinagar, today.
The Chief Minister further stated that even during the adverse time of Corona pandemic the organizing of the Vasantotsav had continued amid the presence of few people. The festivities of ‘Tana Riri Mahotsav’ of Vadnagar, ‘Uttradh Mahotsav’ of Modhera and Vasantotsav have been popularized in the state by Prime Minister Mr. Narendrabhai Modi since he was Chief Minister of Gujarat.
Mr. Rupani said that the state government has allocated a fund of Rs. 500-cr in its current year budget for organizing sports, youths, cultural and music activities in Gujarat. Owing to ‘Khel Mahakumbh’, the sports persons of Gujarat have won awards and laurels at national and international levels. Similarly, the artists of Gujarat are being encouraged through organizing of ‘Kala Mahakumbh’.
Others who spoke on the occasion included Mr. Ishwarsinh Patel, Gujarat Minister for youth services and cultural activities. On the occasion, over 100 artists, including internationally famed Vocalist Mrs. Kaushiki Chakraborty, had made performances.
The event was also graced by C V Som (IAS), Additional Chief Secretary of Sports, Youth, and Cultural Activities Department, Commissioner Mr. D. D. Kapadiya, Gandhinagar District Collector Dr. Kuldeep Acharya, and others.
