A positive response was given regarding the children’s request for the establishment of schools in the village for further studies after grade 8.
Gandhinagar, Monday: Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel graced the two-day Shala Praveshotsav 2023, held on June 12th and 13th , across the entire state. On the first day, he made a surprise visit to the primary school in Golthara village, located in Kalol taluka of Gandhinagar district. The Chief Minister’s unexpected presence brought joy and astonishment to the teachers, students, and parents present at the school.
During his visit, Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel enrolled two children into the Golthara primary school, one in the first standard and another in pre-primary, and presented them with school admission kits. The Golthara and Lakshmipura schools enrolled a total of 95 students in the pre-primary section, 24 in the Anganwadi, and 5 in the first class.
Additionally, the Chief Minister felicitated the student who secured the first rank in the NNMS district and honored the top-ranking student in the Primary School Scholarship Exam.
In the Gandhinagar district alone, approximately 14,667 children will be enrolled in Aanganwadi, Balwatika, and Class-1 across 601 schools during the Shala Praveshotsav 2023. Statewide, around 2.30 lakh students will participate in the school admissions fair, with approximately 9.77 lakh children being admitted to primary schools.
The estimated total enrolment in schools will reach 12.7 lakh children. Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel interacted with the children during his visit, inquiring about the quality of meals provided at the school and engaging in conversations with them. He also sought information about their television viewing habits, study habits at home, and their relationship with their parents.
When asked if they needed any new facilities at the school, the children expressed their desire for the establishment of higher classes in their village after completing standard 8. Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel assured them that necessary steps would be taken. Furthermore, he positively responded to their request for playground equipment such as slides and swings on the school premises.
Following the Shala Praveshotsav, the Chief Minister convened a meeting with the School Management Committee (SMC) and parents to gather suggestions for further improving the facilities in the school.
The school principal, Shri Ketanbhai, and the teachers, actively participated in the event, making it a memorable occasion for everyone involved.
