Gujarat Government so far approved 29 railway overbridges and underbridges in the state, totalling Rs.780-crore
Gandhinagar, Monday: Gujarat Chief Minister Bhupendra Patel here today in-principle approved proposals for two railway overbridges and one underbridge in Jamnagar municipal corporation areas costing Rs.100.98-crore under the Swarnim Jayanti Mukhya Mantri Shaheri Vikas Yojna.
The decision has been taken keeping in view solve the problem of motor vehicular traffic in long wait at railway level-crossing in areas under municipal corporations and municipalities, thus saving fuel due to long wait at the crossings.
The Gujarat Government has so far in-principle approved 29 railway overbridges and underbridges in the state costing Rs. 830-crore as part of the objective of ‘Level-Crossing Free Gujarat’ Project.
The State Government has allocated Rs. 156-crore in budget for FY 2021-22, including Rs.78-crore for such railway projects in areas under municipal corporations and identical amount for municipalities.
