Gandhinagar, Sunday: On the occasion of Mahatma Gandhiji’s birth anniversary 3Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Bhupendra Patel paid floral tribute to the Father of the Nation at Pujya Bapu’s birth place at Kirti Mandir in Porbandar.
Chief Minister recalled Mahatma Gandhiji’s life poem and said that, Pujya Bapu preached and influenced us to believe in truth and non-violence. Mahatma Gandhi has been and will always remain an inspiration to the entire world for ages to come.
Mahatma Gandhiji resides in everyone’s heart even today as our dearest Bapu, Chief Minister stated. He considered the mantra of cleanliness as utmost mantras among the mantras of truth, cleanliness, satyagraha.
Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi has realized the mantra of cleanliness of Pujya Bapu. Swachh Bharat Mission is one such prime example of it and It has also been successful to provide toilet facilities to crores of families.
Mahatma Gandhiji gave a new direction for the upliftment of India by weaving Khadi into his life and thereby boosting the rural industry of Khadi. The Chief Minister specially mentioned that Shri Narendra Modi, the son of Gujarat, has implemented ‘Khadi for Fashion, Khadi for Nation’ to promote village industry and Khadi, and has provided new strength to self-reliant India by supporting rural artisans.
While addressing in Sarva Dharma Prarthana Sabha Chief Minister said that people of the country and the world are imitating Mahatma Gandhi’s ideas in their lives. When war, communalism, imperialism and capitalism prevailed in the world, Mahatma Gandhiji’s revolution of truth and non-violence portrayed the attention of the entire world. Emphasizing on the fact that Pujya Mahatma Gandhiji stressed on prayer for purification of thought, purification of conduct and self-purification Chief Minister said that Prayer plays an important part is our culture.
On this occasion, Shri Raghavjibhai Patel, Minister of Agriculture and Minister-in-Charge of Porbandar District, paid tribute to Gandhiji and said that Mahatma Gandhiji has given us a message of lasting inspiration by adopting the path of truth and non-violence. Stating that 133 countries of the world have issued tickets on Mahatma Gandhiji, the minister added that Mahatma Gandhiji fought against the Apartheid policy in South Africa and inspired the path of non-violence in India’s freedom struggle.
The Chief Minister visited the museum at Kirti Mandir and encouraged the Khadi village industry on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanti, and also made a note in the Kirti Mandir visit book.
Singers presented bhajans-prayers including ‘Vaishnav Jan To Tene Kahiye’ in the Prarthana Sabha organized. Porbandar District Collector Shri Ashok Sharma welcomed the Chief Minister through sutar ni aanti.
Bhaishri Rameshbhai Oza also offered floral tribute to Mahatma Gandhiji.
On this occasion, MLA Shri Babu Bokhiria, District Panchayat President Manju Karavadara, Former MLA Shri Karshan Odedara, District BJP President Shri Kiritbhai Modhwadia, Municipality President Shri Sarju Karia, Range I.G. Shri Nilesh Jajadia, Collector Shri Ashok Sharma, officers-staff including Kirti Mandir Committee members and a large number of citizens and leaders were present.
