CM unfurls tricolour at the state-level function held at Gir Somnath to mark 73rd Republic day

    Felicitates Pradhan Mantri Bal Puraskar Award winner Surat’s “Anvi Zanzarukia”

    Gifts Rs. 5 Crore for the development works of Gir Somnath district  

    Gandhinagar, Wednesday:  Gujarat Chief Minister Mr. Bhupendra Patel today unfurled National flag and extended his wishes from the state-level function organised at Sadbhavna Ground of Veraval-Prabhas Patan in Gir Somnath district to mark the celebration of 73rd Republic Day.

    When the Chief Minister hoisted the tricolor, flowers were showered at the venue of the ceremony from the air force helicopter with the spirit of patriotism.

    The CM saluted the national flag and in an open jeep inspected various platoon. Chief Secretary Mr. Pankaj Kumar and Director General of Police Mr.  Ashish Bhatia joined CM. The parade was led by IPS and Assistant Superintendent of Police Abhishek Gupta as well Assistant Commissioner of Police Mr. Sagar Sabda was the Second Parade Commander. The function was organised keeping in view the prevailing situation of COVID-19 and following COVID protocols.

    Gujarat Jail Police Platoon ranked first, Gujarat Marine Commando Platoon ranked 2nd and Junagadh Women’s Police Platoon ranked 3rd as well platoon commander of the Rapid Action Force in the paramilitary category were honoured with trophy.

    The CM also felicitated Surat’s “Avni Zanzarukia” Pradhan Mantri Bal Puraskar Award Winner- 2022, who has mastered in yoga posture despite her physical disability.

    On this occasion, Dr. Parthakumar Mehta, a veterinarian who has done an excellent job under Karuna Abhiyan, Mr. Yogeshbhai Chudasama of Prakriti Nature Club, Mr. Arvindbhai Bhagwanbhai Mer of Aga Khan Agency for Habitat, Chitravad, Volunteers Mr. Sureshbhai Bachubhai Bakhalakhiya and Mr. Nitinbhai Hareshbhai Ram were felicitated by CM.

    The CM monitored administration of a “precaution dose” being administered to Corona Warriors- Front line workers at the venue.

    Mr. Patel handed over cheque of Rs. 2.50 crore to the Collector of Gir Somnath, Mr. Rajdev Singh Gohil for the development of Nagarpalika area and a cheque Rs. 2.50 crore to DDO Mr. Ravindra Khatale for the development of rural area of the district.

    A total of 18 platoons of personnel from Indian Coast Guard, RAF Vastral, Marine Commando Jamnagar, Junagadh Women Police Platoon, Rajkot City Police Women Platoon, Gir Somnath District Police, Gujarat Jail Police, Porbandar District Police, Ahmedabad City Traffic Police, Gujarat Forest Department Women Platoon, District Home Guard Platoon. , District Sagar Rakshak Dal Platoon, NSS Platoon of Students, Gujarat Shwan Dal (dog squard) , Gujarat Ashwa (Horse) Dal and SRP Pipe Band Platoon participated in the event held at the Sadbhavna ground.

    Before hoisting the National Flag CM paid floral tribute to the statue of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel in the Somnath Mahadev temple premises and exchanged wishes with visitors from out states. After the program, he visited Gaushala of Somnath Trust and planted trees and also visited Chandan Van.
