Gujarat Chief Minister Shri Vijay Rupani today gave principle approval to Gujarat Power Corporation Limited (GPCL) to develop 500 mega watt solar park project at Harsad village situated in Suigam taluka of Banaskantha district to give momentum to production of solar energy in the state.
It is worth to mention here that Gujarat has developed the biggest solar park of Asia at the desert region Charanka of Patan district with commitment to encourage clean – environment friendly energy production with a view to decreasing burden on traditional energy resources. Now as a result of this principle approval a solar park project with 500 mega watt capacity and will be established across 510 hector land of Harsad village by GPCL. Union Ministry of Non-conventional Energy is expecting 8,000 mega watt production from Gujarat within year 2022. In this context, state government is committed to develop such solar park projects on PPP basis with accelerating production of solar energy.
